If you’re listening to this week’s episode the time it airs, we just wrapped up NOMAD 2020 this past weekend. And what a needed weekend it was. My husband and I as well as 10 other speakers and friends gathered together to share our hearts with you all.

Though we all had our own unique experiences and perspectives, our central focus was to help those who feel lost in their spiritual journey. Those who feel like they have been an outcast or a misfit, or those who feel like they don’t belong.

And the overall consensus was that no matter how much you question or doubt where you’re at, you are still validated. You are still loved. And you are exactly where you need to be; you’re not lost; you’re only beginning to find your way.

And I think this message is especially relevant for those who are hurting right now. There are many of us who feel as if our voices don't matter or that our experiences are not affirmed. Right now, the world is grieving the lives of the black community. People are being hated for their skin color and being cast out because of the pigment of their skin.

Isn’t it crazy how God just uses the little things in life to teach us the greatest lessons? From a silly, yet meaningful hashtag that I found on TikTok to finding ways to keep thriving through a global pandemic, sometimes it really is the little things in life that teach us to be still and soak in every ounce of life.

Recently, my husband and I started our very first ever garden and aside from the fruits and vegetables that we planted, we decided to also plant sunflowers. Little did I know, the sunflowers would teach me the most beautiful message during all of the craziness during a global pandemic. And this week, I am sharing that little nugget of truth with you.

Have you ever noticed that your insecurities speak the loudest when you go out to prove them otherwise? Why is it that when you claim the audacity to chase after the most brave and bold areas of your life, you tend to fall back on your weak spots?

This week, I am sharing an experience I had recently. After a super productive day, I felt super low energy. My insecurities slowly started to creep up and undervalued my accomplishments from earlier in the day. But as I started to dig deeper within, I felt God tug at my spirit to reveal what was actually happening on a deeper level. What does it mean to be brave?

How do you define bravery?

This topic is something that I have really been leaning into the past couple of weeks.

It’s even the tagline for my other podcast, The Reckless Pursuit, “Be Brave, Be Bold, & Be Reckless”. But what’s so interesting to me is that we often talk about being brave but when we look deeper, we all seem to have a different definition.

This week, I am exploring the idea of what it means to truly exercise bravery. When I looked to my friends list on FB and asked them the question, “what does bravery look like to you?”, I found all kinds of acts of bravery. And if you ask me, despite the differences in opinion, i would say that every single person was correct in their definition.

But, above all else, there is an overarching consensus that flows through each perspective. Join me this week as we explore this perspective together!H

Have you ever felt deep within your spirit to make a decision in your life that may not make sense to other people? Or have you ever felt like you need to make a hefty decision that may look trivial on paper but will actually change the course in the way you show up?

Well, if you’re anything like me that’s exactly where I have been this past week.

This week, I quit Instagram. Now, this may sound trivial to you but this feels so freaking freeing to finally be able to say that out loud. And it may not make that much sense being that this is the time to be showing up in big ways and connecting with our friends, family, and the communities that we have built online due to the global circumstances.

But deep down, I know this is the right decision to make for me.
