The Stars are 5-0 at the American Airlines Center after they beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-2 Saturday night. Gavin gives a stick tap to the Blackhawks who were playing a back to back and Petr Mrazek played well in a back to back. He was really impressed with Connor Bedard in this one. Gavin believes the Blackhawks could have tied the game with Seth Jones shot from the blue line but because it was deflected in front of the net, the Stars escaped with the win. Gavin recaps the win and then answers tweets from listeners.
The Stars beat the Boston Bruins 5-2 and the Stars scored 3 power play goals in the win. Host Gavin Spittle talks about what changed with the power play not getting it done in the previous games but were able to in the game against Boston. The Stars jumped from 29th to 18th in power play scoring with the three goals they scored in the game. Gavin comments on Casey DeSmith getting the start because Jake Oettinger will more than likely play both games in Finland next week. Then he reads tweets sent in by listeners.
The Stars offense came out flat again as they didn’t score their two goals until the final 5 minutes of the game.
