I have enjoyed a South African based pro cycling career spanning 13 years. Many more than that have been about riding and racing bicycles. From the age of 15 or so, I have been in love with the aspect of going out and riding a bicycle.

Some of the highlights of my racing career have been the 2008 UCI Africa tour winner. 2007 African Champion. Multiple winner of Tours du Maroc, winner of the Tour of South China seas (Hong Kong), the Giro del Capo and Tour de Eden (SA). Stage wins in Granitier Breton (France), FBD Milk Ras (Ireland), Tour of Serbia, Mi-Aout Bretone (France), Rapport tours (SA). I have placed high up in many tours, and worn a fair amount of leaders jerseys.

After the corona virus halted all the sporting events around the world for almost five months, Wheelchair Basketball South Africa will salvage what is left of their 2020 calendar, this month. Starting off under strict Health compliance regulations, all athletes and staff have entered into a bio bubble for the 23rd SuperSport Wheelchair Basketball Series – a four-month league campaign that will be played as a knock-out tournament over three days from the 23rd till 25th October 2020.

All games will be broadcast live by SuperSport and played at The Home of Wheelchair Basketball, the Vodacom Mandeville Indoor Sport Centre, which will host this prestigious spectacle.

Harris overcomes obstacles to break Race Across SA record
Alex Harris fought through high temperatures and sleep deprivation to ultimately break the Race Across South Africa (RASA) record when he crossed the finish line in Wellington yesterday.

The 49-year-old completed the 2 150km challenge, which started in Pietermaritzburg, in nine days and 22 hours. The previous record was set by Martin Dreyer in 2017 and stood at 10 days and six hours.

Johan started racing in the Regional Championship in 2007 after winning the Northern Regions two years in a row. Johan started competing in SA National Championship in 2009. In 2010 Johan became the first privateer to win an event overall in class P & the class P Championship

From Special Vehicles category Johan converted to Production Vehicles in 2013, competing for the first time in Nationals and at the Dakar 2013. In 2014 Johan & Mike finished 7th overall while training for Dakar 2015. Successfully completed Dakar 2015 obtaining 31st position overall.
