Most deer hunters impatiently wait for the first week of November. Now that it's here, are you ready? Have you formulated a game plan to capitalize? Was the work you did to prepare in the off season enough? This week on the Pennsylvania Woodsman, Mitch is joined by Jon Teater from Whitetail Landscapes. Jon is a professional whitetail hunting property consultant, avid deer hunter, and the host of the Maximize Your Hunt Podcast on Sportsmen's Empire.
We begin by discussing some key components of what it takes to design hunting properties efficiently. We touch on topics including when is the right time to harvest doe, and how do you deal with fence sitters? Then of course, we discuss being as efficient as possible during the off season as well as during the hunting season. Jon shares what the rut looks like for him this season and how you may be able to capitalize during the rut. Jon is a fascinating person who has a mountain of knowledge, for more, be sure to check out his podcast!

On this episode of The Nomadic Outdoorsman Dan talks with returning guest Jacob Coons about his in depth look at mapping softwares used by hunters and what makes one stand out above the rest.
Jacob is an avid outdoorsman from Kentucky. He loves breaking down hunts, gear, software and strategy to figure out how he can become a better hunter. He enjoys sharing the information that he finds with others and has created several hunting guides. Jacob never stops learning and growing as an outdoorsman and is constantly encouraging others to do the same.

Hey everyone, welcome to episode 145 of the Antler Up Podcast!
On this week's episode Dimitri and I were joined by PA native Ryan Glitsky. Ryan is a true woodsman and a very successful whitetail hunter. Ryan spends a ton of time in the timber and has had a ton of success hunting the rut over the years. It is a perfect time to have Ryan on and talk about some rut topics. These topics include what Ryan contributes to his success during the rut, how his hunting strategy from October with hunting scrapes and security cover switches a little to hunting over terrain features and the importance of doe bedding. Ryan mentions the importance of finding deer concentration and how post season scouting sets you up for success, adapting and not worrying about pressure and a heck of a lot more is packed in this episode to get you ready for a fun and successful rut!
Ryan also dives into what sign is good enough to set up on, when an all day sit needs to pivot, using historical camera data and scouting data will help you during the early part of the rut and what obstacles a hunter should try to avoid! Best of luck out there and Antler Up!

This week the guys got the chance to pick the mind of there great Derek Towles. Derek is a friend of the show, from down in Kentucky. Let’s put it this way, Derek is like a mix of Superman, Santa Clause, and Daniel Boone. He saves the day as a first responder as his career, ships packages from the GoWild warehouse for fun, and spends all the rest of his time in the woods. It’s kind of an awesome gig! Derek has had success in the woods of Colorado already this fall hunting black bears, and hunts a nice piece of private land in Kentucky. We cover different rut tactics, stand locations, and how to maneuver throughout the month of November.
Depending on how you look at it, Paul is either winning or losing in the game of archery. The deer he shot at won that battle, but Paul put a hurting on a tree in the process! He recaps his killdeer hunt and trick or treat. For Andrew the week was much slower in the woods with reduced amount of time spent outside. Work, Life and patience…
Our O2 hunt camp member of the week is Alex Herman. Alex grew up in Wisconsin but has migrated to the Buckeye State. He was skillful enough to take down his first buck with a compound bow earlier this season. Alex recaps the hunt and how it worked out!
Have a great week and good luck to those getting out into the great Outdoors of Ohio!

This week on The Average Conservationist Podcast, Marcus sits down with DJ Zor from the BackCountry Hunters & Anglers - Armed Forces Initiative. To celebrate Veterans Day, we're doing a two part series to highlight the BHA-AFI and celebrate our Veterans. The guys cover a bunch of ground in their discussion, including DJ's introduction to the outdoors, what AFI's mission is, and how the outdoors has an impact on us all. DJ talks about AFI helping bridge the gap for active duty military members getting outdoors as well as helping give veterans a new mission after serving our country. This is a great discussion from start to finish and one that will certainly motivate you to give back to an organization like AFI. To learn more, head over to backcountryhunters.org.
