  • Bikini Hoe-Down (1997): Lost friend search party!

The story so far: Three friends are trapped in an underground movie rental store managed by a magical anthropomorphic mole man, have adventures, and watch movies to pass the time and figure ways out of predicaments.

Eric is missing, Moleman is to blame, and Dan and Greg kick off year 5 with a little hoedown of their own! While discussing podcast powerhouse Fred Olen Ray's 1997 film Bikini Hoe-Down (aka Mystery on Makeout Mountain, which is an awful alternate title), we get down to business and wonder why the girls are named after months instead of seasons, debate leaving things to the imagination, remember pay-per-view fuzz, and fantasize about washing machines with big butts.

It's the second half of the 4th annual Hugo Awards! Rejoin the boys as we bicker about who should win best supporting and lead performances of the year, who should be crowned the best director, and what will go down in history as our favorite movie of 2024. We also take a break to celebrate 200 (!!) episodes of Stabby Stabby! We talk genres, languages, countries, directors, actors, user scores, and obscurity levels across all 200+ movies we've covered on the podcast so far. Grab a beer, nestle into your favorite chair, put on a chill video game you only need half your brain for, and nerd out about movies with us as we bid farewell to another year of Stabby movie trash art.

  • The 4th Annual Hugo Awards: Part I

It's the 4th annual Hugo Awards! Join the boys as we look back on another year of wonderful, lovable, sometimes-trash films in an awards ceremony we made up because it's fun to rank things. What songs can't we get out of our heads? Whose car was the sleekest? Whose body was the hottest? Is Greg wearing his tuxedo thong? Do we still have tiny baby bodies? All these questions will be answered, and more!

  • The Abomination (1988): A growing problem

The story so far: After almost a year of being trapped in an underground movie rental store managed by a magical anthropomorphic mole man, and dealing with all the bad things that happened to them, the struggle becomes real...

This week, the boys are dealing with the trauma from recent events. Are they becoming the monster after all?! To figure out this problem, they decide to watch 1988's The Abomination! While trudging through the low-budgetness of the film, we discuss our Texas gun tricks, toilet boys, monster gender reveal parties, and the pros and cons of low-budget filmmaking!

  • Body Puzzle (1992): The bunks behead themselves

The story so far: After almost a year of being trapped in an underground VHS movie rental store managed by a magical anthropomorphic mole man, the boys find themselves curse by a box that's swapped the heads between their bodies. Maybe an obscure 90's giallo could break the curse...

This week on the podcast, it's time for Italian cinema! Join the boys as they indulge in Lamberto Bava's 1992 psychological-thriller-giallo Body Puzzle. Will they lose themselves as they investigate the grisly series of murders surrounding a beautiful widow, or will they get distracted talking about bunks, Bavas, snorting salt, and dangerous horse boys. Also hopefully they can break this curse that's got their heads swapped between bodies. Definitely doesn't end in another grisly multi-murder. I promise.

  • Curse of the Dog God (1977): Head swap shenanigans

Still stuck down a magical movie mole hole, the boys take a deep dive into the 1977 Japanese occult film Curse of the Dog God. Along the way, they discuss accidental animal-vehicle homicide. If you were a demon-possessed soul, what food would lure you out? And what exactly is the mysterious inugami, and why does it matter in Japanese folklore? It’s doggy deities gone wild!

  • Cannibal Campout (1988): A real vanity project

The story so far: The boys have been trapped in an underground 80s movie store for almost a year and are doing their best to stay alive and entertained.

This week, home improvement becomes the name of the game for the boys, so instead of working hard and actually getting things done, they decide to watch a movie, and land on watching the shot-on-video splatter film Cannibal Campout (1988)! We veer way off the tracks on this one and end up discussing the Amish, new ED solutions, horse girls, Porking With Greg, and St Jon McBride the patron saint of SOV film!

  • Hardware (1990): This is what we want, this is what we get

The story so far: Energy is waning in the movie hole as the boys sober up after all the recent holiday celebrations only to sink into the dread of a new year looming ahead of them.

Happy new year! Happy new year? Oh god, it's a new year. Join the boys as they dive face-first into their anxieties about the coming year by watching the cult classic Richard Stanley film Hardware (1990). Will the stellar direction, lighting, editing and performances win us over? Or will we get distracted by kids on leashes, claiming "Hershey highway" for Pennsylvanians, perverted Porkins, and yet another robot with a metal dong. Listen to find out!

  • Black Christmas (1974): It's beginning to look a lot like murder

In this special Christmas themed episode, the boys dive deep into the genre-defining 1974 classic Black Christmas. While taking dirty phone calls and breaking down the film, we create the new Christmas franchise "Scare-olers”, make our own holiday anthology, and spend a lot of time talking about why movies are freaking cool. It's a festive good time filled with movie hole magic that you won't want to miss.

  • The Boy God (1982): Like a gift from God or whatever

The story so far: Having become trapped underground in an 80s-era movie store run by a mole man for almost a year, the boys are starting to plan for the upcoming holidays!

This week, the boys are on the receiving end of some divine intervention and end up watching The Boy God (1982), a fantasy/horror/kids film from the Philippines! While it's not an actual Christmas film, we get into discussions about pegging in jeggings, Sonic the Hedgehog, low-budget FX, and, if we could, what God would we be. There's nothing narcissistic about it!
