Yeah yeah it’s been awhile since we’ve posted one and this episode is over a week due but I finally got some time to edit and post the show so enjoy. This week on Stay Hatin writer Todd Inoue comes up from San Jose to talk about the raps with Serg and Soft Money. He gives us the San Jose perspective and tells stories about going to shows in Santa Cruz where many a young college student had their first crack at the hip hop lifestyle. Soft and Serg play some newish raps, we find out that Detroit has No Taco Bells. Also here is the Enemigos Video.

Stay Hatin is back! This time around we’ve got rare rap blogger/tumblr Joseph of PerfectionIsPerfected to hangout to give some opinions on the raps. Noz also stops by to really speak his mind on the condiments game and yell at us about relish and fixin’s. Soft Money tells us something about Kim Kardashian. Also 12manrambo says hello briefly, if you listen close he tells us about what Noz gets on his Caspers order every day.

Oh man this is the SoManyShrimp episode. Music journalist and r&b lover David Drake is the guest. If you’ve paid any attention to rap blogs circa the mid to late 00’s you should be aware of the rap blog he started. Serg also posted on it before everyone’s minds got limited to 140 characters of tumblr likes. Just to go extra heavy on the 04 rap blog vibes Noz comes through to hang out and talk raps. We find out things like that David is a J.Cole fan, Soft Money likes white guys who do Bob Marley covers, Noz thinks Big Sean raps like NGA Fish, and that everyone is an industry plant, especially David. Illuminate is calling us to the table. Through all the talking we do manage to play 14 rap songs we kind of like, this one is pretty heavy on the talking and runs a bit long but considering this is the second meeting of David and Serg in real life I guess that’s kind of expected.

Episode 78

This week’s episode is finally up after sitting on deck for a minute. Young God hangs out to talk raps and tell us about Spooky Blak’s talent. Soft Money is back for this episode too! We play a good amount of not so new raps, throw in a good chuck of Jacka songs because we shouldn’t forget what people create and put out in the world simply because they aren’t written about in whatever dumb websites people look at in 2015. We also make the comparison to  him being the Bay’s Cormega and Husalaha being the Noreaga of the Bay.

Somanymistakes, oh man I explain BeatKing’s BDA song as Beat Dat Ass Hoe when it’s BOUNCE, then I call DatBoiDad YaBoyDad, and mix up my discriptions of his style verses that of Icewear Vezzo. Never mind the technical difficulties of having a headphone jack that only plays sound sometimes during a live recording and too top things off Soft Money has died again. Some how we pulled through, thankfully Willie Maze was there to help us cope with a post Mr. What’s Gafflin world. There is some rambling and tangents but we still managed to get through it and play 16 newerish raps so fuck with it.

Yeah it’s been a while since we’ve posted a show, holidays and vacation do that and this show almost didn’t even happen because Serg’s laptop decided to freeze about an hour deep into the show which almost fucked everything all up because this is always some one take shit. Thanks to the power of robots and the internets we were able to salvage the show and bring you things like Pimp C songs you haven’t heard, Chief Keef montages, and HIT SONGS. Episode 75

This Stay Hatin is being posted from a kitchen in Texas because Serg is on vacation. Noz shows up again to profess his love for Lil Boosie, make claims that Chief Keef is the new Schooly D, Mista Whatz Gafflin plays a YG Hootie song, Serg is the only one who likes Billard, FABO is one some 80’s shit. Anyways check it out, the vocals are a little jacked because of brand new mics and off levels so some parts are a little low but if there is anything Stay Hatin is known for is consistently quality recordings.

Episode 74

This week’s poorly managed episode of Stay Hatin has Noz and DJ Willie Maze filling in for an absent Mr What’s Gafflin aka Soft Money. There is also an attempt to get the youth perspective on raps by bringing in two young rap fans and getting their unique thoughts on the rap music. It gets a little chaotic with so many dudes on the mics, Noz is apparently Serg’s personal ghost of hiphop messageboard past, Serg can’t keep his Slim/Young thugs straight but still manages to play the same Young Sizzle song twice. We could have edited that out but figured what the hell just leave it in because it adds character or something.

Episode 73

This week we’ve got a fairly drunk episode. Well more that Serg is drunk than Soft Money so there is some nonsense going on like forgetting the names of artists, levels had to be edited in post, twice as many mispronunciations, calling a Danzig song Momma, and who knows whatelse. Soft Money bless Serg with the knowledge of a hanging chad and if your not that deep in the hole punching paper game then you should get learned on that link. Soft Money also uses his coworkers lack of knowledge of the Whip Dance as some kind of bullshit fountain of youth to hang on to the dream of his adolescence. It looks more like a half ass version of the motorbike wristjob with all kinds of extra toppings for personal flavor. Somehow the two of them manage to play more raps than usual and because we’re back in the studio it’s all newer raps so yeah deal with it.
