When someone say's "That horse loves its job" and "That horse hates [fill in the blank]".

"That horse just needs sweaty saddle blankets"

"He just needs miles with sweaty blankets"

Variations of this phrase I hear all the time. Ill be honest....it makes my skin crawl when I hear it.

If that horse is spending long lengths of time and effort practicing things that make him upset and things that aren't giving him more understanding or meaning, he's going to end up a worse horse after all those "sweaty saddle blankets".

I've had a fair amount of these horses come through training. It takes way longer to undo the miles of "bad sweaty blankets".

Here's what you should be looking for instead of just "sweaty saddle blankets".

Cutting and cow horse events are sooooooo exciting! They are fun to watch and fun to participate in. Lots of trainers and riders spend a ton of time perfecting those catty makes; reading the cow, stopping, and turning.

There are two types of horses in the world....

Sunny and all the other horses 🤣🤣🤣
