Surrendered Birth Stories: Your Christian Birth Story Podcast

A tale of two stories, Parosmia and Pregnancy, and how they affected each other. This story is a very emotional one for me. I know I forgot to mention some things and yet it’s our longest episode to date. I missed details here and there, and likely missed some feelings that would have helped add to the context of the story, but I pray the Holy Spirit speaks through my husband and I, and that He’s able to work through this very vulnerable piece. Thank you in advance for your patience and grace as I navigated telling this story in full for the first time.

Having a new baby can be overwhelming, exhausting, and just plain hard. But doing it alone can make it that much harder. Today we’re talking about the importance of having a community, in any stage of life really, but especially in motherhood. When your first birth is an induction in the hospital that turns into a postpartum hemorrhage, and your second is a lightning fast birth where you had the baby in the van on the side of the highway…you could imagine holding off on having another baby for awhile, and even then, preparing for birth in a different way. But when you're able to describe your third birth as not only peaceful, but fun, I’d say that’s a great redemption story. I was blessed to sit down with Parker and Michaela as they shared with me the journey of how their third baby came to be, and every twist and turn throughout the experience! Seriously, tune in, this one’s not only heart warming, but has it’s downright hilarious moments too!

I’m not sure I could have been more excited or more honored to have had the pleasure of interviewing my grandmother, my Granny, about her birth stories. What was it like to give birth in the 1950’s and 60’s in West Virginia? Today you’ll get to find out. Along with some other fun stories about her and my Grandpa’s relationship and past! Breech birth is a variation of normal. But OB/GYN’s are no longer being taught how to deliver breech babies, they’re simply told to do a c-section, no questions asked. How would you feel if you’d had three successful, natural, vaginal births, and when going into labor with your fourth, he was breech, and the only option they gave you was surgery?
