Hindsight is always 20/20, and we are blessed that God allows us to learn things through our experiences to help make changes for the better next time. Even though there are some things that Natasha would choose to do differently in her next birth experience, God was right there with her through her entire journey and gave her the peace that comes with His presence. A last minute 66 hour induction at 37 weeks is not exactly what John and Jeni had planned for their daughter’s birth, but their naïvety of being young, first-time parents got the better of them. From the moment they got home from their nearly week long stay at the hospital, Jeni was already planning the redemptive second birth she knew God had for her, but this time, with open hands for His will to be done and not hers. Were you ever unsatisfied with the care you were receiving during your pregnancy? Did it give you pause when it came to thinking about how the labor would go? At 16 years old you're told that you most likely won’t be able to have children. Then by 18 you’re married to your high school sweetheart, and by 19 you’re pregnant with your first child, and soon facing postpartum depression head on-what a huge change in a matter of a few years. Listen in on Allie’s story as she shares with us how God met her through that depression, and put people in her path to help her along the way. Her relationship with Him grew as she went on to have a second child, and then adopt a third. Going into your first pregnancy, you make a plan, you have a vision, you have a prayer…but then what do you do when it all comes crashing down? At 34 weeks pregnant, Rebekkah’s world changed forever. She went from having a routine ultrasound appointment to having a C-section in less than 12 hours, as her life depended on it. What came afterward was an extended NICU stay for her son, during part of which she was restricted from seeing him, and later on, some undiagnosed delays he was experiencing. Once she had some time and space to reflect on everything, she realized she had indeed been through quite a traumatic experience, and has since had to take it all to the Lord, day by day and moment by moment.

When you’re not in relationship with the Lord, and you’re going through something as life changing as birth for the first time, things can seem pretty scary, especially if you’re navigating something as serious as postpartum psychosis, but God can and still uses these incredibly emotional situations in our lives to draw us closer to Him. Hear how God was able to work through Christine’s first birth and postpartum by calling her to Him through the darkest period of her life, and then how He was able to give her supernatural peace during her second son’s birth as she chose to trust and surrender to Him.
