Welcome back to my podcast! This episode is a bit of a rant but I wanted to try to articulate what's been happening for me mentally as I've grappled with BPD rage, existential angst, and coping with the societal factors that can negatively impact our mental health.
I feel like more conversations about how world issues, financial strain, and oppression and the connection to mental health issues like BPD, anxiety and depression are so needed!

TRIGGER WARNING** This episode may be distressing to some. Mentions of trauma, SI, mental health experiences.
I'm sharing some of my experience in the mental health system in California to provide more context into why I feel so strongly about holistic recovery and not solely relying on traditional systems for recovery and support.
Please note that I'm not an expert and everything included here is from my lived experience. I am never suggesting that everyone should do what I've done to recover but instead simply aim to provide a more varied perspective that I feel is lacking in the wider mental health space as a queer and neurodivergent woman of color.

Today's episode focuses on the BPD "favorite person" dynamic but also on how I'm continuing to learn that by opening myself up to other connections I've been able to find much more support and love than I ever thought I could and frankly that I ever thought I deserved!
I hope this episode is healing. Whether you have BPD, other mental illnesses, or whether you're just curious. I hope you listen with an open mind and open heart. Thank you to those of you who have continuously tuned in! I SO appreciate you.

I'm back again! I've been in a depressive episode and prioritizing my needs. In this episode, I talk about the negative impacts of living with severe depression, especially the impact it can have on relationships, careers, family, health, and quality of life overall!
I don't want to throw out cliches but rather encourage those struggling with depression, BPD, Bipolar, etc. so that you all know you're not alone! It's not easy and the best thing you can do is to have compassion for yourself throughout it all!
