SU fell to 6-7 (0-2) with top recruit Kiyan Anthony watching courtside. The more SU slides down the hill in the 2024-25, the more fans will start looking ahead to what Anthony's Orange will look like next year. In the meantime, Brent talked about hiw Adrian Autry has to switch up his starting line-up with Chris Bell's sustained struggles. Brent Axe recaps Syracuse basketball's 75-63 win over Bucknell as SU gets ready to begin its full-time ACC slate.

Brent discussed how SU continued to struggle from the 3-point line, shooting 1-of-11 distance in the 2nd half. 

Encouraging signs from the win included Eddie Lampkin (18 pts, 11 rebs) and Donnie Freeman (15 pts, 11 rebs) both scoring double-doubles and SU's switch to using more zone press seemed to light a fuse on the defensive end.

Brent Axe recaps Syracuse football's 52-35 win over Washington State in the Holiday Bowl.

The Orange offense gained over 600 yards against the Cougars, led by Kyle McCord's 453 passing yards with five touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Brent and Chris Carlson discuss his historic Holiday Bowl, where he set SU bowl game records and became the ACC's single-season passing leader, and the enormous impact McCord made on SU football. They also highlight some of the other big performances in the game from LeQuint Allen, Jackson Meeks, Darrell Gill Jr and more.

The 27-point loss was the worst of the season for the Orange, topping a 26-point loss to No.1 Tennessee. SU scored 17 points at halftime, its lowest total for a half of basketball all season.

Brent Axe recaps Syracuse basketball's 75-71 loss to Georgetown on Saturday afternoon at the JMA Dome.

The listed attendance for Saturday's game was 17,18. While the fans that did go to the game were loud and created a great atmosphere for the 100th meeting of SU-Georgetown, that's a concerning number for SU's main rival in a series that routinely used to get 30,000+ into the Dome. 

Georgetown ironically used a zone defense, the signature weapon of Jim Boeheim's tenure it had to face for so many years, to flummox the Orange on Saturday afternoon. Eddie Lampkin (18 points) and Jyare Davis (15 points) both had good offensive games inside, but the Orange defense struggled in the paint, get out-scored in that area 48-34. 

Brent also discusses the continued struggles of Chris Bell in big games, who had just 3 points for Syracuse, and growing fan concerns about Adrian Autry's coaching methods.

Brent Axe chats live following Syracuse basketball's 102-85 over UAlbany at the JMA Wireless Dome on Tuesday night.

Tuesday's win was a matter of perspective. SU's offense scored over 100 points in regulation for the first time since 2016. Donnie Freeman had 24 points despite not starting the game. Jaquan Carlos continued to overcome his struggles with 12 points and 12 assists. 

On the other hand, the Orange defense gave up 51 points in the second half and continued to have sustained defensive breakdowns.
