  • Disparate thought 1: Fear of death is the ultimate manifestation of self, the ego.

I read some juicy spiritual content which sparks some cool thoughts outside of the actual reading…

    Episode notes:

The purpose of this episode.  A cool ACIM reading and I was just writing down thoughts as they came to me, whatever those thoughts happened to be.  A Course In Miracles, Text Book, Chapter 15, Sec 11 “Christmas as the end of sacrifice”,

The name itself lit me up with joy.  The cynical side of me would have been very effected a few years ago.  The shining lite that Christmas represents.  Every moment can be Christmas if you let the light of Christmas shine on you.

Ok, here’s the disparate thoughts which I pontificate on for this episode:

Fears of death are the ultimate manifestation of self or the ego.  Trying to live life to the fullest is fear of death I say…  The more I lean into death and see that as an illusion…  The more I get a glimpse of that.  Starts 4:59 - Ends 13.34 (This could be an episode on its own) Yes :)

  • Interview #19 Domenica “Dom” Berman. The millennials are hopeful and you should be too.

Domenica Berman and I went through two rounds of yoga teacher training in 2017.  And when you make it though something like that you are bonded for life.  Dom, currently 27, is not only the kindest, warmest, person you will meet, but so his her family.  I had to interview Dom because she is an authentically good person, and she inspires hope.  The kind of hope that is a well cooked meal, a warm place to stay, shelter in the rain.  She will change the world one kind smile at a time.

    Episode notes:

Domenica can inspire you for goodness on IG @domenicameanssunday.  She streams classes on IG live Friday mornings. .  Reach out to her for yoga private lessons her on her website: https://www.yogawithdomenica.com/.

The books for you to read immediately which she references at the end:

    • Transcendent Kingdom, Yaa Gyasi.
    • Sapiens, Yuval Noah Harari.
    • Into The Magic Shop, James Doty.
    • Tiny Beautiful Things, Cheryl Strayed.  “It’s the most beautiful heart wrenching advice".

”What I loved/love about you..  When I first met you was your authenticity. Your Generally positive outlook on life. There is no sizing up when you meet Dom…  “Young Dom”.

“What is the experience of someone in your age, your demographic, in the current state of affairs, the covid, the politics - the younger person’s perspective?”

Covid started as fun and exciting...  Novelty wore off.  Was enjoying tome with family living at home.  Got depressing...  For her lucky still had social connections.  Saw depression in extended family who are isolated.  The communities that are super impacted more than u  Lower income less privileged.  Showed the glaring reality.   Limited access to healthcare and health professionals in those communities…  Perhaps those who can’t stay home form work, essential workers, bigger families to support…

Being more aware as she gets older of the different levels of privilege.  This time period has brought out those disparities…

The politics are very overwhelming…  She graduated college in 2016 in journalism.  Into the firestorm of trump…  It was very disheartening.

    I think I am so inherently hopeful…

Tell me about your social media habits.  I’m mid level I think.  I try to focus more on reading.  Her parents still get the actual NY Times - “I already read that article on the app” she tells her parents.

Tools for bringing the mood back up…  Yoga, walking, exercise, meditation.  When I feel myself spiraling I try to take a moment.  Breath…  She likes some acupuncture.  “Tell me about source, god, etc”.  When I’m looking for clarity or an answer or a connection to my intuition…  Yes I’ll go there.  Tarot cards, journaling, getting everything out on paper, the clarity emerges.  Was that trusting my intuition or what?  In retrospect “Hey!  That wasn’t intuitive.”

Did you learn this “intuition skillset” from your parents?  Yes my parents are totally into it…  Dad has done his share of meditation.  Does yoga before he surfs to help keep a level head regarding his job.  Mom’s naturally, intuitive mindful, and meditative.  She has learned from both.

Her grandfather was super present…  Everyone liked to say, “He never did yoga but he was always doing yoga”.  He never said anything that wasn’t necessary and true, he embodied all the yoga teaching without even knowing it.  He was my greatest yoga teacher even though he didn’t do “Yoga”.

What did your grandfather do?  Back in the day he started a business recycling the big 50 gallon barrels.  He was still driving semis until he was 89…  Lots of good conversations until the end with her grandfather.

I was doing yoga sometimes twice per day…  They were like “you should do teacher training cause you are always here.”  “That was a great decision I’m so happy I did”.  After college I was actually depressed.  It was such a big transition.  Best friend moved away, a breakup, had to move back in with parents…

“One of the best things that CorePower brought me (the yoga studio she went to) was the community.  It’s all my best friends I met through that time.”  And the training there was so good she says.  I’ve been teaching 4 years now and I can add in my own flair now, they gave me such a great base.

Her family support was and is very powerful for me to see.  “Can you speak to that?” She lights up when she talks about her family.   My dad and I have been through many lifetimes together (like past lives).  They take her parents all the time.

I (Mischa) lover her parents, her family, it’s beautiful.  My youth and family life was hectic.  It is nice for me to see goodness.  Good soulful people.

CorePower teacher training is very competitive.  What was that your experience?  I wanted to teach by the end of it, but I didn’t have the confidence at the end of it.   It sussed out some insecurities in her.  She had to go through tryouts many times…  “I wasn’t ready yet”.  Teaching was the best thing to overcome her insecurities.  She’s not competitive “I'm tenacious.” IT helped her with insecurities.   Tell me about “extensions”.  “(The teacher) was on me…”  “You’re not speaking loud enough”  “You’re not being confident enough”.  “It was always things that were not an easy fix”.  “How in the world am I going to fix this?”  “It was nice going back there…  and teaching to the community I know”.

You have a positive outlook for your generation.  “What does that mean to you?”  She believes In general her generation (the Millennials) are accomplishing accomplishing such cool things globally.  And that her generation and the younger generations are so much more compassionate, understanding, and kind.  “and openminded”.  “(The) older generations have these set ideals that are really limiting and sometimes are kind of hate inducing”.  The younger generations are breaking down barriers and pushing to make everyone more accepted.  “The younger generations are… not even able to fathom that idea.”

“You need to be a wary consumer of your knowledge.”  “Social media can be used for good things.”  “You are what you chose to consume”.  Be aware of what you consume.

I (Mischa) love the thought that your generation and the generations under you are incapable of thinking the crap that I think.

The importance of food in her family.  They grow a lot of their food.  Her grandparents were farmers or from farm families in LA.  Italian and Mexican decent.  A lot of heritage recipes that they use.  They are very into healthy eating.  Figs from her tree in her lunch as a kid.

What’s she gonna do with her life?  Buy a condo and hunker down.

  • Krystal Kelly Pre-Interview Hype

When I went to edit up this part of an episode I was so struck by my reaction to the Krystal Kelly interview I did; I had to it (my reaction) into its own episode!  And why not take some messy action and try some different things? Play with additional intro’s outro’s and stuff?  Got to have fun.

    Episode notes:

I just had an Amazing interview with Krystal Kelly.  A 2CCX co-hort.   Krystal is stealthily doing all the steps of the 2CCX…  Humble, gracious, wild card, snuck in the back door of amazingness :).  She travels the world training horses in extreme locals (Lots of the Middle East).  A was blown away by the interview.  Feeling the humanity of life the connectedness of life.  The illusion of separation that wall of separation continues to be stripped away by these interviews.  She really did that for me.  Look forward to Krystal Kellys interview.  She is a true adventurer, a true spiritual warrior, without trying to be.  She brings spirit just for the sake of goodness and humbly…  Ends 4:56/4:59.  I could turn that into an episode…  And record an introduction to it…  I am going to listen to the rest first…

  • How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

After much turmoil I have the summit breakthrough and will soldier on.  Follow the instructions.  You can do this.  The choice is mine I will be loved no matter what.  This episode is  about the sensitive side of that process :).

    Episode notes:

The summit creation process and how it relates to: If you follow the instructions and take the next steps you can do just about anything.

It’s not that I can’t do this it’s that I won’t do this which actually freed me to continue on.

My late night journaling…  at some point we transcend the need to forgive… a little more of the jinxing… anyhow the thoughts keeps coming back to me, keep trying, keep at it, baby steps.  Don’t give up.  “Sending the email to stop is not keeping at it”.  I was glad the mail said I may quit…  Not I do quit.

The break through moment.  Follow the instructions.  Next indicated step.  The things I’m worried about are way further down the line.  How do you eat an elephant, one bite at a time…  Ikea cabinet instructions even work their way into the conversation.

  • Sometimes when I ask for help what I’m really saying is, “Do this for me!”

The summit is a set of instructions…  And it turns out I’m pretty good at following instructions.  Heck I changed the engine in my truck when I was a dumb ass kid at a time when I couldn’t even change the oil.  Somebody simply handed me a set of instructions.

    Episode notes:

How to progress forward with the summit.  Opportunity to for me to practice staying in the moment, taking next steps, and following instructions.

Not looking too far ahead and not projecting.   Reminds me of when I was putting an engine in my truck… Here’s what happens if you role a truck in the freezing weather.  I cracked my engine block being a dumb as kid…  I was broke, eating ramen burritos in college.  You can rent the truck bay in college for nothing.  I could barely change the oil.  BUT!  I could follow instructions.  The shop teacher had said you have to figure it out yourself.  When I was asking for help, what I was really asking for was for him to come do it for me.   Kind of like my current coaches now.  I’m asking for help, but I really want the answer, and not to learn it on my own.  …And I have there is the no turning back moment with my coach!

  • The "Positive Coping Skills Summit"

Looking ahead at the instructions helps give me the push in need to keep moving forward with the 2CCX and the summit.  And what if I were to call it the Positive Coping Skills Summit?  There are so many cool modalities out there for when your brain can go sideways.

    Episode notes:

What helped me to continue forward with the 2CCX and the summit was looking ahead at some of the instructions.  I was in a state of overwhelm but I’ve learned what I’ve needed to learn.  The positive coping skills summit.  So much cool stuff to help a person deal with rough times.  Things to help us get to the other side.  And to heal!  There’s traditional.  Theres the CAM…  Complementary, and Alternative Medicine therapies…  There are so many cool modalities out there.  The pain got bad enough for me that pulling myself up by my bootstraps wasn’t enough.  Be open to look at solutions, things you are not used to.  Have you quit anything or tried to start something new?  You get so many opinions, getting clarity can be painful!  How do you re-find happiness when your brain has gone sideways.  The progression of no longer fighting with my kids about their homework.  Thank god I finally figured out how to be nice at homework time.

  • I’m trying to learn my friends kids names...

I talk about three main points:  1) I’m slowly learning to be a better friend.  2) Take the good commentary with the bad commentary.  3) This situation feels like quitting a bad habit.  (With other diversions in between of course)

    Episode notes:

The three points that I’m going to talk about.

    • I am slowly learning how to be a better friend.  With the gauge being can I remember my friends kids names.

I’m distracted by couches being left out on the side of the road.  I can probably flip them.  I like that arbitrage moment.  Do I come back and get them or do I let someone else do the job?

    • Good commentary bad commentary.  My neighbor harasses me about my hair.  Something about it looking like a toilet brush.  Vs reminding people of Led Zeppelin.  Don’t take it personal.  Trying to own who I am.
    • Quitting bad habits.  I always want a gold star for getting back to normal.  Coming up with the summit name feels like quitting a bad habit.  I’m compulsively looking for the summit name, I can’t quit thinking about it lol.

  • Have I told you my jinx theory yet?

A little more riffing on my hair, cause why not?  The meat of the episode is about my desire to quit the high end mastermind I’m in and what will take its place?  And my real fear, will I have any more content for my podcast if I do quit?

    Show notes:

In my drug addled youth I love the Zep.  I was a Zeppelin fan.   I remember when the we got a copy of the bootlegged “Kill Em All” album, 1983 or 84.

The real purpose of the episode…  I think it’s time to leave the 2CCX group.  My biggest fear, I won’t have any content moving forward.  I get to trust that there will be content moving forward.

A friend tells me that of all the podcasts he listens to…  He is pulled into the moment and listens to nothing else.  I have a gift for this.  And some other props.  Have I told you my jinx theory yet? More of the free and for fun, or do I need to get paid to do it?  That’s a luxury question.  The metric’s are fleeting.  Do it for free and for fun and hopefully it monetizes.

Business thought answers don’t seem to motivate me any more.  It takes time effort resources.    The less I care about my profile shininess the better I feel.  I sent a email to the head of the couching, I’m done, I think.  Reminds me of dragging out the mortgage business…

  • Interview #18. Ann Fangio: Christians - divorce, dating and marriage.

Ann Fangio helps divorced Christians heal, love themselves, and find new love (all without going to hell).  Ann is smart, kind, thoughtful, educated, experienced and a ton of fun to talk too.  She will give you insights into relationships, boundaries, limiting beliefs, and of course spirituality.  I’m not a christian, but I’m curious and I like to ask questions, so we get after it.  I literally had a hard time keeping track of all the books, authors, experts and modalities she has in depth knowledge with.  No matter what side of the fence you fall on, if you keep an open mind, you will be more enlightened for listening.

Ann Fangio just wrote a book “Intelligent Dating” which is good for Christians and non-Christians alike.  Find Anns stuff here!:

    • https://betterbeliefsnow.com

    Show notes:

Go to Ann’s FB page and you will see Lasting Love Ministries and a counselor.  Ann is a devout Christian.

There is a lot of hurting Christians that need guidance…  Tell me about that.

The man rules and the women submits and that is not what the bible says.  The Jewish laws are very kind to the women and women were looked after very well.  This mentality we seem to have in the Christian community…  is very oppressive, and it hurts the relationship.  Men are being harmed just as much as women are being harmed and the kids.  …I, as a divorced Christine, want to help do is spread the word that god doesn’t hate you…

She is fluent in scripture and verses…

Ann’s message is, “How do we bring peace back to (divorced Christians) people?  “When I first got divorced I thought I was going to burn in hell.”  “Literally.”

I (Mischa) don’t have a religious back ground I’m more of a recovery/12 step frame of reference.

“BTW I’m a Christian counselor who cusses.”  Her opinion of the 12 steps.  It’s God without the bible.  It’s the purest form of religion.

30 yrs ago an older women (65 or 70 yrs old) hands her a book.  And it gave her god back.  It explained how divorce is not the ultimate sin…  The author, it was a Church of Christ preacher going against everything (Christians) have been taught.  It was a very profound moment for her.

Another fun book she recommends… Gretchen Baskerville, “The Life Saving Divorce”.  Divorce is a system, it’s a game…  And not designed for the financial good of couple.  Prenups are good, set them up when you are in love and you’ll be much kinder to each other.

Be willing to tell your partner of your attractions to others if attractions pop up…  Once you speak it out loud it takes a lot of the power away.  “I have to be able to tell you, and you have to be able to tell me, and if we can’t there is a problem in our trust.”  “Do I need to tell my husband every single thing that comes into my head?  No.  But I should be able to.”  She talks about that in her book, “Intelligent Dating”.  “Wouldn’t you want someone to leave you upfront?”

Intelligent Dating is a blueprint to finding a proper partner…  and it came from experience.  How many divorces and counting?  4!  “Coupling is probably the hardest thing you will ever do in your life.”

What was the book that changed your perception?  James Edward is the author she thinks.  An in depth study of marriage and divorce.  (Turns out it is John Edwards: An in depth study of marriage and divorce).

She references friends whom have killed themselves coming out of divorces…  “It’s hell on earth or is it hell later?”  “Or are you staying in the relationship and it’s hell.”

My heart was broken by that last relationship.  “I had a dream and the dream was lost”.

    …she re-discovers German new medicine.

Breaking down the scripture and how it says divorce is actually ok…

Christians, Marriage, and Divorce…  What a trip!  Christians have some radical dogma to deal with.

The final straw of her last relationship…  She took the paper off of the printer too soon.

“Children live what they learn… You show them a lack of temperance, compassion and understanding and guess what they are going to grow up and do the same thing.”

You cannot work with someone who thinks that you have to be good enough.  You will always fail to them you will always be short in their eyes…  And she had that habit herself.  How’d she break it?  It was a movie.  “The Banger Sisters”, it made her realize I have to let my kids make their own mistakes.  And she has a cool story with her daughter around it.

What is your main malfunction when it comes to relationships?  Turns out she's always had choices… Her pattern, it was how she viewed money.  And having “physically bonded” with them before getting married.  Watch out if they kiss good!  Her good senses go out the window if she gets physical too fast.  Don’t bond physically until you know they are a good fit for you.  “When I bond my wisdom takes a hike.  No matter how smart I am.”

Men bond through sex…  Women bond through everything that gets you to sex.  Another book she references John Gottman: The Seven Principles for Making Marriages Work.  (No religious stuff in this one BTW she says.) “You are either moving that person towards you or away from you.”

“If you start begging someone or asking someone to treat you right, or you have to teach them how to treat you right.  Just leave.  It isn’t getting any better”.

Marriage myth: “the second marriage must work”.

Boundaries.  You have a vision of what love is?  Yes… (references M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled).  “Love is an action, love is a verb…”  “If I wouldn’t treat you that way I should not allow you to be treating me that way.”  “Love is Kind, compassionate, thoughtful, setting good healthy boundaries.”  “The Al-Anon people know how to set boundaries!”  “I used to never say no.  People walked all over me.”  “Now it’s only my husbands that do that!”

At my age “I’m more focused on helping people then I am on this one thing I always wanted which was a great relationship.  “I have that great relationship with god now…”

On to the German New Medicine…  Deals with emotional trauma.  “Our bodies are dying to get our attention to address these things.”  “High level control” if we think we’re sick, we will take their pill.  Ryke Geerd Hamer.

Kyle Cease, Kylego.  She talks some ‘Beliefs”.  What she loves about Kyle is he’s all about the “What if”.  “He uses his gift to bring a message to the world instead of just making money.”

Her book - Gives you 3 Values Assessments - Her favorite one  helps you find your top ten values, you define what does that value mean to you?  What does it look like when it’s healthy?  What does it look like when it’s unhealthy?  etc… Richard Frankel, Mans Search For Meaning, Logotherapy, Freud, Alfred Adler birth order.  From all of this, if we are living are meaning then we are happy, because happiness is a byproduct of living your meaning.  Soma, Psyche, πνεύμα.

“What values am I addressing and what values am I ignoring?  What can you implement today? What can you implement this week or this month to start living that value again?  You will find that your happiness is greatly increased.”

She screwed up a lot as a parent…  But being a parent was the biggest blessing in her life.

“I didn’t see it as an accomplishment because I new that I could do it.”

I ask her about Muscle testing and Psych K.  She riffs on that a little bit.  “This is the missing piece from talk therapy”.  “The subconscious beliefs actually drive our behaviors”.  “Thats all they ever said, they didn’t tell us how to find them.  They didn’t tell us how to change them…”.  “If we don’t change what’s in our subconscious that it doesn’t matter what we intellectually know, nothing else is going to change.”  We talk some burning in hell :).  This is some real woo woo stuff.

She’s asked: “What is the biggest loss you’ve experienced in this life?”  “Tears just started stream down my face…  the pain that my poor decisions have caused my children.”  “I release my pain from the past and eagerly await all the good that awaits me now.”  “I hadn’t been connecting, …I had just been hiding all this time.”

“We just cast off that  limiting belief and we command on the empowering belief in a matter of seconds.”

“I can have the relationship of my dreams and I don’t care!”

  • Things I’ve quit and the amazingness that has come from it.

Turns out I’ve quit a bunch of things in my life.  I go through a list…   It may inspire you and it may not.  As I record this episode I’m burnt on the coaching group I’m in and want to bail.  As I'm in a reflective mode I realize how often it's been a springboard to better things.

    Show Notes:

Before I decided “I think I’m done here.”  I was gonna do the summit on quitting…  I.e. the “It’s ok to quit summit”.  All the things that I’ve quit to break through and have new stuff come to me.  I’ve had to quit so many times and the results have been awesome.

Here’s many of the things I quit.

    • When I was a lad, drinking and drugging.
    • Professional Snowboarding.
    • My business partner and I back in the day “quit” a business, fortuitously we got a cash bonus to quit the business :).
    • I quit DJ’ing
    • My sales career, which I worked so hard to build.  I was a commodities broker for 3-4 years.  2-3 years telecom sales.  Mortgages for 15 years.

Distracted by the shiny objects…Back to things I have pivoted from…

    • Oh yes, I was a professional gambler, I quit gambling when I was  24 years old ish.

The things I have quit that have served me so well to quit.  It serves you and then it doesn’t.  So you’ve got to pivot from it.

The positive coping skills summit is rather benign.  I can get my arms around that.

    • Oh yeah I was a gym rat for a while.  Although I was lean and not big.
    • Surfing as a coping skill it served me and then it didn’t.  I’ve kinda quit that.
    • Same thing with yoga.  The hot yoga specifically.

The physical aspects of the yoga saved me though!  It was so powerful to help me come out of some low grade depression.

Hows my breath?  That’s a great indicator of where I am in the moment.

    There are seasons for everything.
