  • Sabres Biggest Test Starts Now, Plus Tremaine Edmunds Situation Is Polarizing

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, this week marks the five-year anniversary of the show and we kick things off with Patrick Moran being joined by Joe Yerdon for their weekly chat, this time focused heavily on the Buffalo Sabres ready to receive their stiffest challenge of the season that’s likely to show if this team’s truly a playoff contender or not.

Starting tonight (Tuesday) the Sabres play four of the best teams in the NHL and two teams they’re competing with for a wild card spot. They have Toronto (Tuesday), at Tampa (Thursday), at Florida (Friday) and Washington on Sunday and by then we have a clear idea if Buffalo will be in the hunt until the end of the season. Joe has thoughts on the significance of these upcoming games, where they stand right now, the job UPL’s doing in net and some trade deadline stuff.

The guys also spend a few talking Buffalo Bills and more specifically Tremaine Edmunds, who’s been a polarizing player to discuss over the past few years. Patrick also has a pair of new wing reviews (Sports City Pizza Pub & Sonny Red’s), Joe’s asked personal questions ranging from weird food combinations to getting old and much more.

  • Do The Buffalo Bills Have Enough Weaponry?

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for their weekly chat, focused on several topics including a discussion on if the Buffalo Bills have enough weaponry on offense as things stand.

Gabe Davis discussions have been endless but today the guys spend some time talking complimentary weapons for the Bills we should expect more from in 2023, namely James Cook, Dawson Knox and Khalil Shakir. Aaron has thoughts on what this team needs offensively and should target this offseason, whether it’s free agency, trades or the draft. They also talk about how Ken Dorsey growing into a better coordinator in year two will help the offense as well.

The guys also talk about Aaron’s co-host Greg Tompsett premiering a new show on Cover 1, Howard Simon retiring from WGR, their weekly “Finish the Sentence” segment and much more.

  • Bracing For a 2023 AFC East Bloodbath

On this bonus Thursday episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by recurring guest Joe from Queens (@BuffaloWins) to discuss some of their biggest Buffalo Bills 2022 takeaways now that the NFL season is officially over as well as taking a look at what could be loaded AFC east in 2023.

Never one to mince his words on the podcast, Joe has a handful of takeaways from the Bills season including imploring them to spend big on offense while Patrick keeps coming back to the blown game against Minnesota as the catalyst for the season ultimately not turning out how Bills fans hoped.

They also talk about how Miami and the New York Jets could potentially be just as good as Buffalo next year, react to the recent Kim Pegula news, other media notes and much more.

  • Joe Yerdon on the Bills/Chiefs Gap Plus Sabres Critical Stretch & Wing Reviews

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by writer and sports media personality Joe Yerdon for their weekly chat, this week focused on the biggest takeaways from Sunday’s Super Bowl as well as the Sabres embarking on a truly critical stretch of their season.

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a thrilling game despite the unsatisfactory finish for anyone but Chiefs fans. The guys spend a few minutes talking about the game as well as the entertainment aspect before getting into some conclusions regarding the Buffalo Bills that can be drawn from watching Kansas City win it all again. Spoiler alert---Patrick’s angry.

They also talk about the Sabres getting ready to play seven games over the next two weeks that’ll go a long way towards determining if the team will be squarely in the hunt over the season’s final few weeks. Joe has thoughts on that as well as why the Sabres have been so much better on the road than home.

That plus Patrick has wing reviews for both Belt Line Brewery and Wingnutz---and plenty more.

  • OK, Let's Have the Gabe Davis Discussion

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, it’s Casual Friday which means Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) to discuss a variety of topics, including if Gabe Davis is good enough to give the Buffalo Bills what they need and if the term "WR2" isn't as significant as it sounds.

A hot button conversation making the rounds with Bills fans right now is Davis and if the Bills need to make getting an upgrade at starting receiver alongside Stefon Diggs a big offseason priority. Both the guys have plenty of thoughts on this as well as the actual significant of a guy called "WR2" and other things going on with the Buffalo offense including the future roles of Khalil Shaker and Isaiah McKenzie.

They also talk about Lebron James becoming the NBA all-time scoring leader this week and the unavoidable Lebon vs MJ debate, something Patrick especially hates. That plus reaction to the Kim Pegula health update, Aaron Rodgers messing with Green Bay fans yet again, their “Finish the Sentence” segment and much more.

Earlier this week Patrick revealed his 10 biggest sore spots from the 2022 season. Today’s the opposite. • Buffalo Sabres Playoff Push, Plus "The Ridge" Wing Review & Earthquakes

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by writer and sports media personality Joe Yerdon for their weekly Tuesday chat, this time focused on the Buffalo Sabres readying themselves for a post all-star and bye week playoff push and a new wing review of a West Seneca hot spot from Patrick.

The Sabres hit the all-star break and their week long bye just one point out of a wildcard spot. Joe has plenty of thoughts on what’s went right for the Sabres to this point and what needs to happen for them to remain in a spot to end their 12 year playoff drought.

They also talk about the earthquake that woke up and scared Western New Yorkers on Monday, the guys’ first movie seen at a theater, other questions designed for listeners to get know more about the guys, Patrick’s wing review of the new “The Ridge’ in West Seneca and plenty more.

  • Ten Biggest Buffalo Bills Sore Spots For 2022

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is going solo today, highlighting what he considers the 10 biggest sore spots on the 2022 Buffalo Bills season.

Several topics and players are discussed and in many cases criticized, including the defensive line not stepping up in the wake of Von Miller’s ACL injury, Gabe Davis not ascending as the team’s No. 2 wide receiver, Ed Oliver providing worry about his contract and future, the offensive line being a pretty big weakness and much more.

They’ll be an episode highlighting the 10 biggest bright spots coming down the chute soon enough but that’s not what it’s about today. This episode is at least one man’s opinion in who and what should be assigned the most accountability that Buffalo failed to advance farther than it did in 2021.

  • Status Quo For The Bills, Bucket Lists & Overrated Movies

On this episode of Talking Buffalo it’s Casual Friday, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for a conversation about the Buffalo Bills in addition to some life topics, including a top 10 bucket list from each of the guys.

Is it going to remain the status quo for the Bills this offseason? I guess that depends on what your definition of status quo is. Patrick and Aaron discuss how much of a priority bringing back Tremaine Edmunds is, the offensive line being badly in need of revamping, Jordan Poyer (very) likely moving on and Aaron’s excellent point about draft picks being judged without enough nuance.

They also drop their bucket lists on us and we learn that Aaron wants to write a book and Patrick’s really wants to visit Ireland. That plus TV shows that need to be rebooted, overrated movies and much more.

  • Sabres Set Up For Exciting Stretch Run

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by writer and podcaster Joe Yerdon for their weekly chat, today centered on the Buffalo Sabres being set up for an exciting stretch of February games but an ugly offseason looming for Buffalo Bills fans.

The Sabres are right in the thick of a potential wild card race with just one game remaining before a 10 day break that precedes a nine game in 18 days stretch afterward. Joe has plenty of thoughts on what’s went right for Buffalo, Casey Mittelstadt turning the corner with his play and what it may take to trade for a big time NHL star.

The guys also spend time talking the Bills, including the realization that they’re clearly the third best team in the AFC as things stand, why there’s probably no quick fix in terms of roster addition and testiness from fans growing by the day. That plus they go over some biggest pet peeves, favorite teenage bands, low energy meals and much more.
