Your Toronto Raptors have done it again and made the NBA PLayoffs when none of the so-called experts thought they would. Our pal Matty Laing joins the show to get you set for tip-off.
Do the show a solid and leave us a rating and a review there inside your podcast app. It just takes a moment but it helps out a ton!
We break down a fascinating series with our NBA expert and ask him all about what the 76ers stars should expect out of Toronto, what kind of impact Matisse Thybulle not being able to play in Canada could play, what the Raps need to accomplish to advance and so much more.
Plus - maybe a little romanticizing over the last time the Raptors took on Philadelphia in the playoffs.

Super fun show today as we were thrilled to get Graham Creech of TSN Radio and Steve Bunda of Faces Magazine back in to the TCA Studio to discuss this weekend’s UFC 273 card.
Help out the show by leaving a rating and a review there on your podcast app. It makes a huge difference for us and it only takes a moment.
This is a huge night of fights and despite the fact that there’s 2 championships on the line, everyone is talking all about the Welterweight battle between the phenom Khamzat Chimaev and a very dangerous veteran in Gilbert Burns. We’ve never seen someone blow through the competition quite like Chimaev has thus far but Burns is very capable of putting it all to an end.
Later on we’ll also see Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling hook it up again for the Bantamweight Title after their last encounter ended in controversial fashion and in the main event Alexander Volkanovski defends his Featherweight belt against the Korean Zombie.
All that plus lots more on the state of the MMA World with two of our favourite guests Graham Creech and Steve Bunda.

We’re excited to welcome you inside an all new episode of Tall Can Audio where Matt Robinson is joined by legendary Canadian broadcaster Dan Shulman of Rogers Sportsnet and ESPN to talk some baseball ahead of MLB’s Opening Day.
Please take a second to support our show by leaving a rating and a review there inside your podcast app. It only takes a moment but it helps keep our show going.
Tons to cover today with Dan including his recent Canadian Screen Award victory, any craft beers he’s come across lately, the sports broadcasting industry gradually returning to normal as we move through the pandemic, and where he believes this unreal season by Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs finishes.
And of course there’s lots of baseball to get to with talk of what Toronto Blue Jays fans should expect from newly acquired Matt Chapman, the great story of Gosuke Kahto making the team out of Spring Training, why the lofty expectations of this group are well within reach, the revamped bullpen and so much more.
Dan is one of the finest sports broadcasters in North America and Blue Jays fans are lucky to have him doing their games. And TCA listeners are even luckier to have him making time for us just ahead of Opening Day.
If you’re looking for some more Toronto Blue Jays content to get you set for the season, we highly recommend this: https://amzn.to/3Jdq4Bj

Huge show today to kick off your Monday with Rob and Matt. Let’s get after it!
Please take a second to support the podcast by leaving a rating and a review there inside your app. It just takes a moment but it helps us out a great deal.
So much to get to today including the usual craft beer preamble, Kyle Lowry’s return to Toronto and whether he’s the greatest Toronto Raptor of all time, the Toronto Blue Jays are ready to start their season and their manager has a new contract, the guys reactions to the huge WWE WrestleMania weekend, Canada finds out who will be in their group at the upcoming FIFA World Cup, the NHL discusses bringing back it’s own World Cup of Hockey, Auston Matthews hits the 50 goal mark for the first time and makes a little history for the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Philadelphia Flyers’ controversial decision to scratch Ironman Keith Yandle, rumors run rampant that the Ottawa Senators could be playing home games in Quebec City and lots more.
The Kyle Lowry as “Greatest Raptor Ever” debate is a fascinating one. Matt recently finished this book on the history of the Raps by Doug Smith and Doug did a wonderful job working his way through all the guys who could possibly lay claim to the title. https://amzn.to/3qVa0Or

On today's show Matt is joined by Canadian music writer Michael Barclay to discuss his new book "Hearts On Fire: 6 Years That Changed Canadian Music (2000-2005)”
We’d love it if you’d take a second to leave the podcast a rating and a review inside your app. It just takes a moment but makes a huge difference for us.
We kick things off with some talk about Michael’s last book on The Tragically Hip which Matt has read several times. How did the Hip get the reputation of being Canada’s band and why did they occasionally shy away from it? Why did the fanbase seem to be so hot and cold on them throughout their career and how did they respond to the idea of having an unauthorized biography written about them?
Talk later turns to the new book and what made 2000 to 2005 such an interesting time in Canadian music and why it was so ripe for exploration, how the internet played in to the growth of the scene, whether the conditions could ever be replicated again given our modern world, what the sense of community was like across Canadian-acts during this period and lots more.
Michael is a brilliant writer and was a wonderful guest that we were thrilled made some time for us.

Lots of complicated feelings to unpack on the day after Sens' owner Eugene Melnyk passed away. What were the vibes like when he bought the team? How did it begin to go south? What were the positives he brought to the market? How will fans remember his time at the helm of their favourite team?
Rob has been here for all of it so we get him to walk us through the good and bad.
