We're thrilled to welcome an Olympian, a World Champion and now a tremendous broadcaster to the show. The Women's Hockey Tournament at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games kicks off on Wednesday night and there's no one better to help get us set for puck drop than Cheryl Pounder.
If you enjoy the show, we'd love it if you could take a moment to support us by leaving a rating on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. It just takes a second but helps us out a great deal.
We kick things off by going back in time about 20 years to ask Cheryl about the legendary Gold Medal Game from the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics where Canada was left shorthanded 11 times by an American referee. The game made news across the country and Cheryl maintains that may have been a turning point for the sport of hockey for women in Canada.
Later on talk turns to Cheryl's transition in to the broadcasting world and how that opportunity presented itself.
And of course, we ask her for a preview of this year's edition of Team Canada heading in to Beijing 2022. Who are the names Canadians will get to know very well throughout the Games? Who has the edge right now to get the call as the starting goaltender? And which team could be the underdog who throws a wrench in to the tournament by changing up the usual order of things?
All this and lots more with a tremendous athlete, a tremendous broadcaster and an even better guest. It's a can't miss episode of Tall Can Audio so make sure you don't miss it.

It's a big boy edition of the podcast today as Matt and Rob kick off another week.
Please leave us a rating inside Apple Podcasts or Spotify. It just takes a sec but it helps us out a ton.
It's a huge show with only a few topics. We look at the Canadian trucker convoy that rolled in to Ottawa this weekend from many angles, the Evander Kane signing with the Edmonton Oilers and it's clear indication of their desperation and the Neil Young vs Spotify and Joe Rogan controversy.
Let's go!

This Saturday WWE puts on one of it's most beloved annual events in the form of the Royal Rumble. Our buddy Kevin Michie of Sportsnet joins us to talk about what's going to go down.
Apple Podcasts and Spotify now allow for star ratings so please consider helping out the show by leaving us a good one.
It's an interesting time in the wrestling industry. Has WWE joined the club in opening "The Forbidden Door"? Why is Micki James from Impact Wrestling taking part in the women's Rumble? Could we see Brock Lesnar double-dipping on Saturday night? Who might surprise us with an unexpected appearance? And might we see Rowdy Ronda Rousey make her return to the ring?
Lots to get to as we break down this year's Royal Rumble and we're thrilled to have Kevin Michie onboard to help us do just that. Follow him on Twitter @KevinMichie and look for all his coverage at Sportsnet.ca

It's fight week once again and UFC 270 looks to be a total banger. We're thrilled to welcome back to the podcast our buddy Steve Bunda of Faces Magazine.
Apple Podcasts and Spotify now allow listeners to leave star ratings for their favourite podcasts. We'd love it if you'd take a moment to give us a good one. It just takes a sec but it makes a big difference for us.
We kick off the show where we always do. What are the craft beer selections that the guys are riding with tonight? Plus we catch up with Bunda as he's made a huge move since we last spoke.
Talk of course turns to the UFC and we start with the fact that ESPN and the UFC have raised the price of Pay Per Views once again and how long that can possibly be sustainable.
UFC 270 is a loaded card with 2 championship bouts as we'll see both the UFC Heavyweight and Flyweight titles defended in high profile matchups. And the undercard is littered with interesting pairings. Matt and Steve walk you through the card offering up their predictions and letting you in on what to look for in each fight.
Make sure you're following Steve Bunda on Twitter @SteveBunda91 and catch his work in Faces Magazine which you can follow @FacesOttawa.
And you can interact with the show on social media @TallCanAudio.

We were happy to end the show with the latest creation from James Mellish - an Ottawa Senators fan with a flare for turning hit tunes in to Sens Anthems. This one was called In Da Tub as a tribute to Drake Batherson. Follow James and his work on Twitter @SilverSeekerMTG.

We're in the middle of another major deep freeze here in Ontario so why not look ahead to happier and warmer times by checking in on the Toronto Blue Jays? We're happy to joined once more by Jays writer Andrew Stoeten of TheBatFlip.ca to do just that.
We'd love it if you'd take a moment to leave us a star rating on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. It just takes a second but it helps us out a great deal.
On the lineup card today: Stoeten's recent run in with the 'rona, the heartbreaking finish to the Blue Jays season, moves that the front office have made thus far including big money deals to Jose Berrios and Kevin Gausman to firm up the rotation, losing Robbie Ray, where Ryu may slot in to the mix after a tough finish to the year, what the Jays may be looking for when free agency reopens, whether or not opting to renovate the SkyDome instead of building a new ballpark was the right move, what's on our Wishlist for the upgraded park and some thoughts on possible changes to the MLB Playoff system.
All that and lots more from one of the brightest minds covering the blue birds. Find his work at stoeten.substack.com or follow him on Twitter @AndrewStoeten.

Tons to get to today including Hofley's bout with COVID, our craft beer options for the show, what this latest wave of the pandemic has done to junior hockey, the Ottawa REDBLACKS new GM hiring and rounding out of the front office, whether MLB Network can be called "journalism" after they fired a respected reporter for criticizing the league, the Ottawa Senators are worse than we expected and so much more.

It's the first show of 2022 and we're pumped to have you back.
Go ahead and leave us one of those sweet star ratings on Spotify or Apple Podcasts. We'll be your friend!
On the show today: Antonio Brown does more Antonio Brown things, TCA's holiday strategy, why "best of" episodes of a podcast are just lazy, the abrupt death of music as a Christmas or Birthday gift, why complaints over NHL Winter Classic scheduling were ridiculous, Ovechkin still has one platform where he's better than McDavid, Crosby and Matthews, just how hard NHL players are still trying to get to the Olympics, a total dud between the Leafs and Senators and so much more.
