It's that time of year again - we've reached the extremely prestigious Brew Marsh Awards. No one has time for the stuffy old men who determine Canada's athlete of the year anymore so make sure you join Chris Hofley, Michaela Schreiter and Matt Robinson as we do this up right - by arguing about it over a bunch of pints.
This year the Brew Marsh Awards also feature categories for the Best Beer of the Year and Best Brewery of the Year surrounding the meat of the issue.
Later on, of course, talk turns to some of Canada's top athletic performers which kicks up quite a debate over pros vs amateurs, men vs women, everyone on earth vs McDavid and so much more.
How do you measure guys and girls who get to do this every night against those who have to get it done on their specific day every 4 years?
We don't know. But we'll try here.
Let's rack a pint and argue over who was the most awesome!

A tradition as old as time - or at least as old as Tall Can Audio. Matt and Rob join you for our annual Christmas Eve World Junior Hockey Championship Preview Show!
Spotify now allows you to leave star ratings for your favourite podcasts. We'd love it if you'd take a moment and leave us a rating on Spotify if that's where you're hearing us.
Lots to get to today including some final thoughts on this year's craft beer advent calendar, some memories on when the guys fell in love with this event initially, favourite versions of the tournament, which players the boys are looking forward to watching this year, names to look for on Team Canada, other interesting storylines to play out during these games and plenty more.
We love that so many of you choose to spend a little piece of your Christmas Eve with us each year and we hope you dig 2021's edition of this little tradition.

On episode 916 of the Tall Can Audio podcast we're thrilled to be joined once again by friend of the show Paul Romanuk to discuss his time covering the World Junior Hockey Championships and what they've turned in to today.
We'd love it if you'd take a second to support the show by leaving us a rating in Apple Podcasts or Spotify. It helps us out a great deal and only takes a moment.
Paul Romanuk covered the World Juniors from 1990 to 2001 and there's a pretty good argument to be made that this is the decade where the tournament went from quaint holiday tradition to multi-media behemoth that we now know. And no one had a better seat for it than Paul. We discuss how TSN became such an integral part of the event, the early days of broadcasting it back to Canada, the growth of the Hockey Canada Program Of Excellence coinciding with the takeoff of the broadcasts, which European cities have done the best job hosting, what we may have lost by moving the games out of junior hockey hotbeds in Canada and in to big markets, the crazy story of the TSN crew's encounter with the "Crazy Snake Lady" and tons more.
Paul was as instrumental as anyone in helping cement the World Juniors as a holiday tradition in Canada and it was great to pick his brain once more.

Man oh man it's been a wild week in the world of sports and we've got one more to get through before we arrive at the holiday break. Let Rob and Matt get you set to push through that final stretch.
Please take a second to leave us a rating inside your podcast app or a star rating inside Spotify. It just takes a second and helps us out a ton.
On today's show: the final stretch before the Christmas break, the problems with how this year's craft beer advent calendar has been curated, Christmas traditions you hate, the anniversary of Vince Carter being traded from Toronto and the legacy he left behind with the Raptors, the Brooklyn Nets folding on their principles to beg an unvaccinated Kyrie Irving to come back and save them, Paul Maurice walking away from the Winnipeg Jets (possibly) on his own timeline, the most annoying fanbases in the NHL, Kevin Bieksa's criticism of Thomas Chabot leaves Ottawa Senators fans in a tizzy and more.

Big show today as we're stoked to welcome the original hockey insider Bob McKenzie of TSN back to the Tall Can Audio podcast.
If you're enjoying the show we would love it if you'd take a moment to leave us a rating on your podcast app. It only takes a second and helps us out a great deal. And make sure you're subscribed while you're at it.
Lots to get to on this episode with Bobby Mac including how his alter ego, Bobby Margarita, indirectly pushed him in to the world of becoming a Booze Mogul, what the canned Bobby Margarita is all about and what you can expect from it, why we haven't seen as much of Bob lately and through the shortened NHL season, what are reasonable expectations for this version of Team Canada as they head in to the World Junior Hockey Championships, which names Canadians will become super familiar with through the IIHF World Juniors and lots more.
As always, it was a pleasure to have Bob McKenzie join the show and we hope you enjoyed his visit. And those of you in Alberta can already find the Bobby Margarita in your local liquor stores while the rest of Canada should keep an eye out in 2022 as it rolls out across the nation.

We're happy to welcome a new guest to the podcast as Kyle Skinner from Dynes Sports makes his debut to help us break down an exciting UFC 269 card coming this Saturday night.
As always, we'd love it if you'd take a moment to support the show by leaving us a rating and a review there inside your podcast app. It makes a big difference for us and only takes a second. Thanks as always for your support!
We kick things off with Kyle giving us a little background on him and his website and how he got in to MMA before taking a look at Saturday night's big event from the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The show features two big championship main events with Dustin Poirier facing Charles Oliveira for the Lightweight belt while Amanda Nunes defends her bantamweight title against heavy underdog Julianna Pena. The undercard also features some really interesting bouts and we get in to all of it on this edition of the show.

It's a big week in the CFL as the Grey Cup goes Sunday in Hamilton between the Tiger-Cats and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers so we turn to long time friend of the show and voice of the Ottawa REDBLACKS AJ Jakubec for some football talk.
It would be huge for us if you'd take a moment and leave a rating and a review inside your podcast app for TCA. It only takes a second but it moves the needle a lot for us. And don't forget to tell your friends about the show.
Inside today's episode we ask TSN 1200's AJ Jakubec about what went wrong for the Ottawa REDBLACKS this year to take things so far off the rails, who he might like to see back next season and where they go from here at the quarterback position.
Later on, talk of course turns to this year's championship game in the Canadian football League as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will visit Hamilton to take on the Tiger-Cats. Do these passionate CFL fanbases make a game like this extra special? What are the matchups to watch inside the game? And why are these two teams the ones who have gotten this far?
It's a huge week for Canadian football and there's no one better than AJ to get you set for kick off.
Follow AJ on Twitter @TheSuperAJ. And listen to him every afternoon on TSN 1200 from 2-6.
