Teacher Quit Talk

Maria stepped out of teacher mode and into living her best life, and it feels like destiny.

After years of teaching, Maria had a feeling that something was off. Despite trying to ignore the red flags, she kept getting signs that she wasn't meant to be an educator forever. Until one day, it became clear - the universe was leading her down a different path.

Maria reflects on her journey with gratitude and reminds us it's never too late to follow your intuition and find a life of joy and abundance. Take it from Maria - with dedication, focus, and faith in the universe, we can create a life that not only meets our needs, but exceeds our expectations.

When Maggie found misogynistic scripture scrawled on her whiteboard, she expected her school to have her back. When they didn’t, that was the last straw. She took her message to TikTok and has been connecting with others like her ever since.

@_ThirdGradeSwag is now teaching 4th grade! I guess he’ll have to change his username. Fletcher Nelson is an extra special guest. Why? Because he’s actually happy with his teaching job. There are still issues, of course, but no job is perfect. He says what really makes the difference is the support he gets (what’s that like?). Tune in to hear what “looping” is and get a five-star rant about third grade standards.

In case you're not one of the 16 MILLION people who heard, Miss R got fired. And wow - that situation was a whole mess. Perhaps you're familiar with this beloved teacher after the "hypes" she does with her students went viral. (You know, the ones where they throw their stressors, depressors, and anxiety out the door/window.) Or maybe you're here because you heard we're bashing Pearson and you love the energy we've created in the studio. Either way, you're not going to want to miss this one.

SEL is the mechanism by which they will murder the souls of your children, apparently. This week is half chatting with Type B about her journey into teaching a specials class devoted to SEL, and half your submissions! But seriously, if anyone knows why SEL is so frightening, please let us know. (To the 4% of our audience which identifies as male: We would never give you the tiny stapler that doesn't open...)

This week on Teacher Quit Talk, Frazz and Redacted hear a tale of how the Queer Librarian (formerly Classroom Yogi) endured and overcame a cancellation attempt from a far right troll with an unfortunately large platform. After her community rallies around her, she declares she will not be silenced. A beacon of light in the dark, she reminds us to stand up for others in the face of injustice and hate.
