We asked you to share why you left teaching, and wow, did you deliver! From burnout to dealing with unsupportive admin, we’re talking about the tough choices we’ve all made to walk away. We’re here to validate your experiences, share some laughs, and maybe even shed a tear or two. Let’s get into it!

Put on the boxing gloves and call Jake Paul because we’re getting into a controversial topic with opposite opinions! Frazz says homeschooling works best in grade school, while Redacted thinks it’s better suited for older kids. What we can all agree on is the need for regulations to prevent cults from abusing the homeschooling system.

Let’s get petty, folks!

Is there a right time to quit? If so, this is definitely it. While we appreciate the professionalism of end-of-year resignations, we can’t help but miss the drama of a mid-year exit. Today, we’re sharing some wild stories from Patrons about their own quitting experiences. Plus, we discuss the struggles of teaching in challenging environments and offer some unconventional advice for handling difficult situations. If you’re thinking about quitting this year and you did it, you rock on, rockstar. If you’re thinking about it, and you didn’t pull the trigger, it’s never too late. You can lose your mind and walk out whenever you want!

A lot of you have specifically asked us to talk about why the hell people still teach. That’s a great question! Today we’ll get into our own personal reasons for sticking around plus we’ll read your submissions. Some of the reasons are sentimental, some are practical, and some might just have to be chalked up to mental illness.

Today we’re talking about a little controversy. A teacher recently went viral for having students unbraid his hair on TikTok Live. A lot of people are coming for him online and –even though it’s not ideal– it’s a really complicated and nuanced situation. It’s so emblematic of the way teachers aren’t being given adequate training and mentorship around appropriate boundaries.
