Day 2 of VMworld is in the books and the Tech ONTAP Podcast is here with all news you need about the event.

VMworld is underway and the Tech ONTAP Podcast team is there to cover everything going on.

Today’s episode takes a deep dive exploring containers with our guest Melissa Palmer, Technical Marketing Engineer for the FlexPod team. We talk with Melissa about what are containers, how they’re different than virtual machines, when to use them, and why to use them. If you are curious about microservices, persistent data for containers, or just want an overview of the container ecosystem, this is the episode for you!

At NetApp, our engineering IT team recently deployed an large-scale virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) aimed at increasing security, flexibility, and mobility for all of our engineering workforce. As a part of this, the Customer-0 team, an engineering program which deploys the latest Data ONTAP operating systems to perform testing and validation before anyone else, is taking advantage of All-Flash FAS and the latest enhancements to clustered Data ONTAP to ensure that the VDI performs exceptionally well under all conditions.

Converged solutions, such as FlexPod, are the natural progression from the traditional IT infrastructure to simple, prevalidated solutions with integrated and standardized components. These converged infrastructures combine storage, networking, and server technologies into a single, flexible architecture for enterprise workload. Hyper Converged Solutions like NetApp Integrated EVO:RAIL Solution (NIERS) deliver a software-centric architecture that tightly integrates compute, storage, networking and virtualization resources in a commodity server supported by a single vendor. So what differentiates a converged infrastructure (CI) from hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI)?

On this episode of the Tech ONTAP Podcast, we sit down with Eric Railine, Technical Marketing Engineer, NetApp, to discuss the rapidly growing HCI market and introduce the NetApp Integrated EVO:RAILS Solution.

The results are in and the Tech ONTAP Podcast is a success. With hundreds of listens on our first episode, the Tech ONTAP Podcast team is back with another episode. In this week’s show, we do a deep dive into everything All Flash FAS (AFF) with Dan Isaacs, an All Flash FAS Technical Marketing Engineer at NetApp.

Pete, Glenn, and Andrew are back with the Tech OnTap Podcast, a new podcast from NetApp. For our inaugural episode, we are be joined by Jay Golfinch, Technical Marketing Engineer for Data ONTAP. Jay will be walking us through the payload of Clustered Data ONTAP 8.3.1 RC1.
