Zum Ableben von Edward II im Jahr 1327 gibt es viele Theorien. Manche davon sind ziemlich brutal. Die erstaunlichste Variante ist allerdings die, dass Edward of Caernarfon seinen offiziellen Tod still und heimlich überlebt haben soll. Was wie eine Räuberpistole klingt, finden mittlerweile viele englischen Historiker durchaus wahrscheinlich.
