Adrien Broner and Adrian Granados battled in a close, back-and-forth main event Saturday on SHOWTIME, with the four-division world champion Broner eking out a split decision victory from Cintas Center at Xavier University in his hometown of Cincinnati. 

 

The fight, which was scored 97-93 Broner, 97-93 Granados, and 96-94 Broner, was a tale of accuracy vs activity. Granados (18-5-2, 11 KOs), a native of Chicago, was the busier fighter, throwing 683 compared to 403 total punches for Broner (33-2, 24 KOs).  But "The Problem" connected at a 41 percent rate, compared to just 21 percent for his opponent.

Artur Beterbiev is now officially confirmed to fight Sullivan Barrera after Beterbiev’s team won the purse bid.

 

The Fight will be Miama, Florida on April 21st.  According to BoxingScene Beterbiev’s promoter had this to say “"It is with great pride and confidence that we see the fight in Miami. In order to allow maximum visibility for Beterbiev… Sullivan Barrera, could not cross the Canadian border, we had promised that this fight would take place in the United States, "said GYM president Yvon Michel.

Two-division world champion Canelo Álvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) and former WBC World Middleweight Champion Julio César Chávez, Jr. (50-2-1, 32 KOs) will embark on a four-city international press tour beginning Monday, February 20 to engage with fans and the media ahead of their Cinco de Mayo weekend showdown set for Saturday, May 6 at T-Mobile Arena.
