Psychologist and certified bereavement trauma specialist Sherry Cormier withstood a decade of personal loss and emerged to write about the promising path back to self-fulfillment in her memoir Sweet Sorrow. Joining Chelsea 15:30 minutes in, Sherry speaks to the dual nature of life and love, drawing a parallel between thank you and heartbreak and sweetness and sorrow. However, she acknowledges that gratitude doesn’t happen initially—even if you may find yourself relieved after leaving an abusive relationship, for instance, or no longer acting as the caretaker to a spouse—but rather unfolds through the management of chaos and stress, in starting to share yourself with the world instead of only a soulmate or best friend, in re-storying the grief and rebuilding a vision for how your life was meant to go. __To connect with Sherry, visit her:Website: https://www.sherrycormierauthor.comTwitter: https://twitter.com/sweetsorrowbookFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/SweetSorrowBookLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/cormier-sherry-b772072aPurchase Sweet Sorrow: Finding Enduring Wholeness after Loss and Griefhttps://www.amazon.com/Sweet-Sorrow-Finding-Enduring-Wholeness/dp/1538114178__Work with Chelsea: www.breakupward.com/shopChelsea’s website: www.breakupward.comSign up for Chelsea’s newsletter: bit.ly/tyhbletterInstagram: www.instagram.com/thankyouheartbreakConnect and send in your questions and/or letters viawww.instagram.com/thankyouheartbreakOr by email: [email protected]Chelsea Leigh Trescott:

After losing her mom to a terminal illness in high school, psychotherapist Susan Youngsteadt went on to lose her father to cancer not long after. Joining Chelsea 10 minutes in, Susan opens up about the things that go missing when your parents pass away—like, your sense of home and belonging, unconditional acceptance, as well as a living, breathing example to point to and say, “this is why I am the way I am.” She talks about what her patients sit and talk about most in her practice, why assuming positive intent works, what she did in the aftermath of grief—particularly, what she rushed to do—and how that either helped or hurt her, how she’s trimmed the hedges of her core circle and built a family of friends, what she does to feel close to her parents, and how hospice is a place where you find yourself rooting for death. All in all, this is a tender conversation about loving the heroes who raised us and growing through our parents even if they are no longer in the physical world.__To connect with Susan, visit her:Website: http://www.mommasuz.comBlog: http://www.mommasuz.com/blog-2Psychology Today blog: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/susan-youngsteadt-raleigh-nc/441773Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mommasuz.nc__Work with Chelsea: www.breakupward.com/shopChelsea’s website: www.breakupward.comSign up for Chelsea’s newsletter: bit.ly/tyhbletterInstagram: www.instagram.com/thankyouheartbreakConnect and send in your questions and/or letters viawww.instagram.com/thankyouheartbreakOr by email: [email protected]Chelsea Leigh Trescott:

At the innocent age of 3, Transformational Healer and Coach, Chelsea Quint, watched her older brother die of a traumatic head injury. Unfortunately, the trauma wouldn’t end there. Joining Chelsea, she opens up about being an incest survivor and how she quickly moved from shock to acceptance when her first abuser—her father—took his own life. Life is very fleeting, she realized, and not just in an existential way but, in the sense that, people do leave the world. Reflecting on what it was like to live through those experiences, Chelsea talks about the significance behind renaming herself, choosing who she wants to be—not as her parent's daughter or her husband's wife but—for herself, the reason her grief is abnormal, the conversation with her younger sister and the question “do you think it was just you?" that brought their shared abuse to light, how child abuse is not a crime of passion or an accident but systematic, and the isolating experience of being told, even in the spaces of healing like a therapist’s office, that your story is too big for people to fully sit there and just say, oh, okay rather than, wow, that’s so intense. 50 minutes in, the conversation moves into the stories of “it’s a lot” that we tell ourselves surrounding our perceived limitations around money, resources and self-worth—and how the choice becomes, do you want to stay within the paradigm of trappings and limitation or figure out a new way to be?__To connect with Chelsea, visit her: Website: https://chelseaquint.comInstagram: http://instagram.com/chelsea.quintFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/xochelseaquintYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-8LRhZ-sX3ga8b9zYEPLpAPodcast: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/survivor-to-thriver-with-chelsea-quint/id1448133524?mt=2&ign-mpt=uo%3D4__Work with Chelsea: www.breakupward.com/shopChelsea’s website: www.breakupward.comSign up for Chelsea’s newsletter: bit.ly/tyhbletterInstagram: www.instagram.com/thankyouheartbreakConnect and send in your questions and/or letters viawww.instagram.com/thankyouheartbreakOr by email: [email protected]Chelsea Leigh Trescott:

With his engagement deteriorating, artist Kane Goldgell fell for his best friend—his confidant, a woman he had even spent his formative years with. They sounded like a perfect match, the chemistry felt magical and, for the first time, his love felt reciprocated. This rush of the new helped make sense of the falling out with his fiancé, a woman he had loved for a decade. But, when his new girlfriend pulled the plug a few months in and out of nowhere, Kane was devastated. Joining Chelsea 11 minutes in, he opens up about love being like war, where you forge a bond that’s never broken, and draws parallels between love and rage—two emotions that overtake you, that you don’t choose but channel. He talks about human connection being his drug of choice, relationships rooted in trauma, why commonality has nothing to do with love, and the bliss that comes when another makes you feel like you are right just as you are. __To connect with Kane, visit his:Instagram: www.instagram.com/kaneofkanes__Work with Chelsea: www.breakupward.com/shopChelsea’s website: www.breakupward.comSign up for Chelsea’s newsletter: bit.ly/tyhbletterInstagram: www.instagram.com/thankyouheartbreakConnect and send in your questions and/or letters viawww.instagram.com/thankyouheartbreakOr by email: [email protected]Chelsea Leigh Trescott:
