Steve unpacks through this week's scriptures how struggle puts us in a place to see Truth that we couldn't before see. When we fear for our own lives, we lose our lives. The disciples reveal to us that the fear of the Lord allows us to lose our lives to gain Him and reveals us to be overcomers.

 Tier Two – OT: 2 Chronicles 22-29

The intentionality of the Son of Man was for us to KNOW the Father AND the Son. "My Kingdom is not of this world..." Steve points out that the Kingdom we are under is not under the authority of nations, but of God. James points out that wisdom from the world is earthly and self-seeking and leads to evil and confusion. But the Wisdom from above is born of humility and yields life, love, and good fruits. We find the essence of the Kingdom reading through John and James together. We learn in Chronicles, "God is with you as long as you seek Him."

How can I understand the meaning of this moment? Steve and Diana point out how God parents us by giving instruction; but when we don't follow that, He corrects us (through our circumstances) to bring us back to His heart and our safety.

In this episode, Steve talks about the invitation that is presented to each of us in the face of a denial. When God answers our prayer with a no He's opening a door to a greater moment than we anticipate, a higher realm of discovery and true fulfilment.

Steve discusses God's great love in creating us. His one charge is to bring us into the full measure of who He is. We will never look like Him apart from Him. His patient forbearance is sometimes perceived as indifference or disinterest, but He is actually waiting for us to yield to Jesus until we look just like Him. His delay is always so He can be merciful to us.

God often interrupts our plans to free us from the structures we've built to support us inside of comfort, rather than dependency. We don't realize that those plans are a prison that keep us from abundant life IN CHRIST. Trying to save my life is a surefire way to lose it.

In this week's podcast, Steve unpacks the tenderness of Jesus regarding our suffering. Prolonged suffering, disappointments, unanswered prayers can lead us to a place of disappointment and hopelessness. Jesus always asked those who had an obvious need, "What do you want?" In this way He sparked faith and desire to believe in Him and His power. Our repentance, returning to Jesus, will always open our eyes to see what we couldn't see before. Faith will come back to life, and healing will follow. If I find truth in the Scripture but it doesn't take me to Jesus, I will miss the moment of transformation.

It's critical to stay immersed in the New Testament as it reveals Jesus, otherwise we stay in the perspective of the writers of the Old Testament who had a promise of the Messiah, but had not yet encountered Him. Steve points out how Paul took time to encounter Jesus. He was fixed on only bringing the sound of Jesus and not promote himself or his own works for Jesus. When we approach the Scripture with a heart of hunger to encounter Jesus, Holy Spirit will lead us to Him every time and miracles will follow because they reveal Him.
