November 15, 2021 S2 E11: The Simulation Theory
Are we all living in the most realistic video game of all time? I’m not sure.
While looking into the idea of reincarnation and having a conversation about past lives, our conversation continued, evolved, and was impossible to ignore talking about the SIMULATION THEORY or SIMULATION HYPOTHESIS.

While seemingly a relatively modern concept (perhaps because of the usage of terminology like “computers”) it’s actually been thought about even as far back as Zhuang Zhou in 370 BC, and even perhaps in Plato’s “Allegory of The Cave”.

But, it seems that within the last several years the idea of our reality actually being part of a simulation is being discussed more and more.
Mathematicians, modern philosophers, and thought leaders around the world have been weighing in, and of course, something that has become so ingrained in our cultural zeitgeist, the movie: The Matrix.

Are we living in a simulation? What exactly does that or would that mean?
Can we find clues in culturally significant religious texts?
What sort of scientific approach and evidence can be found to support this theory?
Does this mean that everyone is tipping toward a chaotic destiny if they discover that they’re simply a “sim”?
Does this theory become the answer to so many unanswered questions like:
UFO’s, cryptid creature encounters, ghosts and the paranormal, deja vu, reincarnation, memories of a past life, dreams in general?

These questions and more are what we aim to find out on today’s episode!

November 08, 2021 S2 E10: Reincarnation & Past Lives
Since we started this podcast, we’ve noticed that sometimes we just have to “give in” to whatever it is out there - in the universe - that may be steering us in a direction we hadn’t planned for, in regards to episode topic.

Sometimes something just lands in our field of vision that ends up occupying our minds so fully that we spend every waking hour we can reading, discovering, and thinking about that particular phenomenon, concept, idea, theory, or event.
That’s exactly what happened this week after Woody came across the story of Shanti Devi - born in India on December 11, 1926...who at the age of 4, began recanting stories of her past life in such incredible detail that it quickly became international news.
It was one of the most thoroughly investigated cases, studied by hundreds of researchers, critics, scholars, saints, and eminent public figures from all parts of India and abroad from the mid-1930s on - including Mahatma Gandhi.
Reading articles, abstracts, and interview transcripts from the time prompted us to dive into the topic of Reincarnation and Past Lives this week.

We go over another famous story about a boy born in 1998 - James Leininger - who at the age of 2, began telling his parents about his past life memories as a downed WWII airplane crewman.
We dive into our thoughts about reincarnation, past lives, mediums, other existence beyond this one we are living, different theories of reincarnation, concepts such as soul-mates, and even how to approach a topic such as this when your faith or belief system may not line up with it.

For whatever reason, this topic landed at our front doorstep - and we opened the door and invited it in for a conversation.

This week Tyler pulled a fast one on Woody by surprising him with a totally different episode topic. This is, of course, after both he and Woody had decided on a topic, prepared for the show, done the research, and clicked the "record" button...
Although traditionally Tyler is pretty bad at spoilers, he kept this one close to the chest until the very last minute.

This week we talk about The Falkville Metal Man (sometimes referred to as the "Metal Man of Falkville" or "The Alabama Metal Man").
This super rad story took place in the fall of 1973, about an hour north of Birmingham, Alabama - in a small town called Falkville.
Late on the evening of October 17, 1973 - the off-duty chief of police Jeff Greenhaw got a telephone call that would change his life forever...
A hysterical anonymous woman on the phone described witnessing some sort of UFO landing in a field just outside of town. Even though he was off-duty, and had just kicked off his shoes and sat down for dinner...he rushed out the door to protect and serve.

Jeff Greenhaw didn't see a spaceship that night upon investigating, but instead something he would later regret seeing...

THE METAL MAN.
