The Activity Continues

This week Amy is recapping “A Banshee’s Cry” which is from Season 2 Episode 2 of The Dead Files. Please excuse that Amy has a pretty bad cold so while we tried to cut out all the coughs and sniffles, you will hear a different tone in her voice. In this episode we travel to Carmel, NY and learn about Smalley’s Inn.

Content Warning:  Child death in history-not explicit

We also talked about Golden Girls and elderly lesbians, our favorite TikTok-er this week, and the Twitter misunderstanding between the Amys. While recording we also learned of Lisa Marie Presley’s death and about fish swimming down the streets in California, which led to a discussion about Australia’s animals wanting to kill all of us.

This week we have another little one-off show. We are talking about our favorite (and not so favorite) Hallmark movies…among other things.

If you are interested in joining a group chat where we share our recommendations, let us know at [email protected] it will likely be a WhatsApp group chat so that it’s not dependent upon any one social media platform.

Stuff we talked about:

Triggery stuff: Dogs eating poop, cults

Other stuff: How gross dogs are, Megan’s shark fleet from Fahlo, and the thin line between making sure your kids aren’t to trusting and scaring the shit out of them. Amy talks about the Moonies. Megan tells us how she got lost driving home. And then we really get into it discussing Hallmark Holiday movies.

Movies talked about. These can be found various places around the web, but a lot of them are on Peacock or the Frndly app.

Megan’s recommendations:

You Cast a Spell on Me (not Xmas - Halloween) 5/5 magic wands

Wedding Every Weekend (not Xmas) 5/5 bouquets

Jingle Bell Bride 3/5 hot cocoas

The Gingerbread Romance negative 10/5 – so not a recommendation

The Baker’s Son (not Xmas) 4/5 loaves of bread

Falling for Vermont 5/5

This week we are not recapping The Dead Files. We have had a bananas couple of weeks and actually we had planned to be completely off the whole month of December. But we decided we wanted to at least have a few gab sessions. We know this isn’t for everyone. If you just listen to us because you love The Dead Files, but not us personally, you’ll want to skip this one.

But if you like us, welcome, pull up a chair and feel free to talk at us into the ether. We’ll feel you!

This conversation is a lesson in what I (Amy) have always called an Aquarian Leap. I swear I learned in high school psychology that when conversations or thoughts leap from one topic to another and then later you say to yourself, “how did we get here?!” that’s called an Aquarian Leap. However, I just googled it for an exact definition and apparently, it’s not a thing at all. So now we need to discuss the Mandela Effect!

 Stuff we talked about:

Triggery stuff: Covid, SIDS

Other stuff: Catalogs from our youth, TV shows (cooking and scripted), wildlife conservation gift ideas, owning land in Scotland, sleep podcasts, and more.

Fahlo. Where you can buy a tracker to track an animal in the wild (shark, penguin, polar bear, lion, sea turtle, elephant) https://myfahlo.com/ (not a sponsor)

And Tracy, if you’re listening, give Megan a call.
