We can be driving, mowing the lawn, or gardening; it doesn't matter; there are distractions around us. It could be a street sign or someone on the corner making gestures. It could be a dog or cat; it doesn't matter. Whatever it is, it's a distraction. It can happen at work in your office or even in your home office. Distractions are there for us to deal with.
Today it's about anxiety, frustration, ADHD, working, living, yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, and everything else I can think of. Listen in.
I'm not one to think about my topics for the show until I start the show. I do that because I like spontaneity or improv, so to speak. I think it's my best creative attribute in my life. I can't do show notes or an outline. I sound funnier than I do without notes. So take it from me this is my creative ability. I think I'll stick with it for now.
Do you have a warning sign before stress hits you? I get in a rut creatively. I start to feel anxiety and stress building up in the back of my brain, so I try to do something to keep it at bay. How do you deal with events like this, or do you even have issues with stress?
Without even realizing it, you set goals daily. You even use all five categories for goals, Personal, Business, Health, Finance, and Family, that I've mentioned in the past and today. The big picture is that you're doing this automatically without having to sit and write things down. Amazing. Look back at the past few days and realize where you set goals without thinking about and be proud of yourself.
Have you ever heard the term Mishegoss? If not, you'll be hearing it in great detail over the coming weeks when we talk about ADHD, creativity, and living. It's a term I grew up with and believed in when speaking or writing about ADHD. So tune in and enjoy the ride.
Life and everything that’s thrown at us can be exhausting and confusing sometimes. Then again when you have ADHD, it can be confusing all the time. That’s why we need to sit back every once in a while and take inventory of what we missed just to see where we are at in life. Listen in for more.
Everyone has good days and bad. Some of us put numbers on those days, while others chose to use colors or something else to define those days. It doesn't matter how you define those days as long as you do that to know when you are the most creative and then capitalize on that day. Spread the creativity on your best days, and hold back on the not-so-great days. Just knowing your levels is fantastic. Listen in for more.
You can eat comfort food or try something that makes you feel good when getting through a tense moment or a stressful day at work. Whether you have ADHD or not, we all need a comfort thingy to make it through. Even when breaking a bad habit, it helps to have a comfortable thing to go to instead of a good habit. Listen in for more detail.
Is there a dark side or downside to ADHD? I wouldn't call it a dark side or downside. It's more like an ultra-creative side. By that, I mean when so much creativity enters your brain at once, and you can't figure it out, frustration becomes the answer. You may even buildup some anxiety or go as far as being depressed. Too much creativity can hurt, but you don't want to lose all that creativity.
