A New Spirit
Romans 7:25b-8:17

Main idea: We can not obey God through our own power.

The Spirit overrules the mind and body (7:25b-8:4).

Those who live in sin cannot please God (8:5-11).

Those who receive the Spirit are children of God (8:12-17).

Triumphant Faith

The Universal Sin Problem

Romans 1:16-32

Main idea: We are called to live righteously.

The Gospel reveals God’s righteousness (1:16).

Righteous living (Obedience) has its rewards (1:17).
• We do not live righteously for rewards, we live righteously out of obedience.

The Gospel reveals God’s wrath (1:18-23).

Sinful living (Disobedience) has its consequences (1:24-32).
• We do not live righteously to avoid consequences, we live righteously out of obedience.
