Increase your power with Benthic gear, new upgradable armor that can now be collected in Nazjatar.

Defeating powerful enemies, completing quests, and plundering the treasures of Azshara’s minions may yield Prismatic Manapearls. Spend this new currency on many different items within Nazjatar including Benthic tokens and upgrades for Benthic gear, pets, and a mount.

After establishing a hub in Nazjatar and empowering their Heart of Azeroth, players will make their way to Mechagon by starting the quest “The Legend of Mechagon,” which can be accepted by Alliance players in Boralus and Horde players in Dazar’alor near each city’s respective Flight Masters.

Junkyard Tinkering

As they traverse the zone, players will have access to Pascal-K1N6, a giant iron robot who will help players craft equipment, mounts, toys, consumables, and more in exchange for Spare Parts and Energy Cells found across Mechagon. Recipes to craft more items can be found around the island.

Pocket-Sized Computation Device

The Pocket-Sized Computation Device is a trinket that players can customize via three Punchcard Sockets, into which players can insert one Red, Yellow, and Blue Punch Card.

Level 120 players will unite with Prince Erazmin and the Rustbolt Resistance to help overthrow his deranged father and destroy his Mechoriginator doomsday device in this new 8-boss “mega-dungeon.”

The achievement Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, Part Two will allow daring adventurers to take to the skies in Battle for Azeroth’s zones, including in the new ones, Mechagon and Nazjatar. Unlock flying will also be rewarded with a mechanical parrot mount: Wonderwing 2.0.

FFXIV

Pre-launch access is live!- For those that have pre-ordered Shadowbringers, you have access to the expansion as of early Friday morning. The queue was pretty high as plenty of people were still awake at 5am E.T. and eager to dive in, including a large contingent of the AIE FC members. The Discord voice channel for FF14 has been pretty active at all hours of the day since then, and there are plenty of people happy to help with dungeons, FATEs, and anything else you might need a guildie for. There were no ‘Raubahn Extreme mode’ moments that we are aware of, so the dev team’s work has paid off.

Broad story notes without spoilers - Shadowbringers is...gasp...darker in tone. Remember all that talk of morally grey story we heard a while back? I think we found it in FF14. Unlike the usual MSQ on rails experience, you are given some options of what order to run tasks in as you explore the new maps. There is a ton of great lore about the universe the game is in, with some holes being filled, and even bigger holes being opened up as you play the story. Rumor has it the first dungeon has some big reveals.

New classes: The second hand reports I’ve gotten are that Dancer is a ton of fun to play, and you might forget this is a ranged class, and a support class at that. It definitely aligns itself with the Bard and the Machinist as far as they work in a party.

I’m also hearing that the Gunbreaker is a very fun tank class to play, with even anti-flavor of the month players being drawn into class as well. Of course, there is now a flood of Gunbreakers and Dancers, so healers; this is your time to instant queue. On the plus side, both classes start at level 60, and require that you have a level 60 class, and of course the new expansion.

A lot of our familiar buttons are now gone, with very few new ones added, but over all things seems a bit clearer as far as what your class is supposed to be doing. Healers are meant to just heal now, so no more expectations for them to also DPS. Tanks don’t have a mitigation aura/stance, their extra tankiness is built in. Instead, their auras seem more for keeping threat/enmity.

Machinist definitely got the rework was promised, but not enough experience with it yet to tell how well it did.

New races: There is a Flood of...bunnies it seems. It is possible that the majority race is no longer the miqote, as the Viera is very obviously everywhere. The hrothgar is available as well, though not as popular yet. Rumor is that both races have little reason to use the Aesthetician(hair dresser) as their hair is tied to their face, meaning it will require another fantasia to change that out.

Catchup: If you are new to the game, it is highly recommended you play through the entire story at least once, otherwise, there are now class level to 70 skips and ‘straight to Shadowbringers’ story skips available for purchase with your real life money in the mog station. The new classes are not represented in the level skips, as they start at level 60. Those playing the new expansion will still be interacting with those players that are in the older content, so there is no worry that you are being left behind.

SWTOR

AIE in SWTOR has initiated the "Summer of 300"! With a handful of CXP300 achievements being removed in the fall for the expansion we wanted to get some of them done before they become "feats of strength". A group of us are working on command ranks on alts to see how far we can get over the summer.

• Also in the theme of 300… SWTOR Escape Pod Cast episode 300 will be Tuesday, July 9th. We'll likely take over some or all of MFN for a pre-show party and talking about the last 5 years of SWTOR.

• For Tuesday Night MFN and weekly activities, the guild is killing their large invasion targets this summer. The Devs increased the rate of Conquest point gain in a couple ways and we are taking full advantage!

• July MEGA will be an epic hunt for the Ancient Threat on Yavin. This will be on 7/27 and will mark the kickoff of AIE's Summer of Love week.

• Big hello and welcome to the handful of new to AIE members that have joined in the past two weeks!

The new hotness in SWTOR this month is The Pirate Incursion event on the new planet of Dantooine. That, together with double xp week, has been a prime time for leveling, rep grinding, and grinding just about any other rank or number you'd like to raise. The heroic quests were challenging enough to require groups, so guild groups and community pugs abounded.

There are a number of achievements associated with stuff on Dantooine as well. The planet will be available for exploration and possibly even resource gathering after the event is over, but we don't know exactly what that will look like until next week. Some of those achievements may be doable then, or may require the event to be in progress. We shall see! After this week, the pirate event will go in rotation with all the existing events.

In guild news, the June MEGA was a pvp night hosted by Marcus and coached by guildie Medullah. Medullah explained the pvp maps and gave insights into what to look for, when to use abilities, and lots of other good info. We used SWTOR's feature that allows us to have our own instance of a warzone to duke it out between two teams of guildies. We even had a small cheering section. We closed the night with a tour of guildie Liberty's Stronghold which was really incredible to see. Marcus wants to make Stronghold viewing a staple of MEGA, so if you'd like your Stronghold to be featured, just let him know.

MFN continues on Tuesday nights, starting at 9PM Eastern. This week we ran around on Dantooine and did some grouping up for the heroics.

In ops news after 6 months of working on Dread Fortress Hard Mode Deathstar Troopers we finally killed Brontes.

Also, SUP has cleared five ops and counting, and apparently they’re having more fun than MarcusB. I sense an operation throwdown coming …

At E3 they announced the next two DLC's for ESO for the Season of the Dragon. They are called Scalebreaker and Dragonhold. No release dates yet though.(edited)

FFXIV

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers is nearly here!

The 3rd (or maybe 4th) expansion of the FFXIV saga!

The Warrior of Light (that's you, the player) will travel to The First to save that parallel world from the light consuming the world, vastly impacting all worlds. To do so, the Warrior of Light must become the Warrior of Darkness.

Launch Schedule!

Friday June 28th – Start of Early Access (*)

* Have you ever been to a MMO expansion launch before? Queues! Bugs! Impatience abroad! Expect some zaniness if you log in this day, but major MMO launches are quite an experience. Take it all in, but don’t fret if things are not perfect on day 1.

July 2nd – Official Launch of the game. Just in time for the July 4th Holiday for our U.S. members. If you didn’t pre-order, then this is when you will get access to the game.

In Approximately 2 weeks after that, July 16th(ish) –

Patch 5.01, release the story mode of Eden, the first 8 player raid. Usually prior to the first mini-patch, we have access to just Extreme primals in the current expansion. We expect to see the same, but haven’t confirmed it yet.

Another about 2 weeks again…

July 30th(ish) – Patch 5.05, release of the savage mode of Eden (this is between heroic and mythic modes for the WoW raiding comparison, with the end fights usually being on par with mythic). Also, the high end Tomestones of Phantasmagoria will become attenable. Finally, new dungeons will be available, the Dungeons of Lyhe Ghiah.

New expansion features are many, and to hear about those, may I invite you to listen to the last few AIE podcasts, as we dived deep into them for the last few episodes.

But quick recap. New worlds, level cap raised for all jobs to 80 including crafting and gathering jobs, new jobs in Gunbreaker and Dancer, and Machinist got a full rework.

How do you start playing Shadowbringers?

FFXIV is a story first MMO. Meaning, to get to the content organically, you do need to play though the previous MSQ (Main Story Questline) to unlock that content. This includes the base game, “A Realm Reborn” (purchased via the Starter Edition), “Heavensward” (Free to add to your account until June 27th), and then “Stormblood”, which is available via the Stormblood expansion until July 28th, in which it will be part of the Shadowbringers purchase.

Story skips and level skips will be available soon if you want to fork over the cash to get you caught up to Stormblood.

Getting into AIE for FFXIV has never been easier! No UMAMI! No level requirement, and no factions to worry about. Just roll up a character on Goblin, in the Crystal datacenter. Drop down into the AIE discord channel for FFXIV, oddly named #ffxiv, and ask for an invite and one of our happy officers will extend a Free Company (guild) invite over to you.

Membership has been way up since the announcement of Shadowbringers, and has been growing steadily since then. Now, you may be thinking, but what about newer players or people not at Shadowbringers yet? Well, never fret, as the leveling queues will still match up people looking to do their MSQ dungeons or just the leveling queue in general. Furthermore, we have been having some success with two Mandatory Fun Nights a week, Wednesday at 9pm EST and Friday at 11pm EST. If you need something done, that’s a great time to request it to be done. Otherwise, just asking in discord and /fc chat to have some AIE folks join you in your adventures is more than welcome.

Goblin is now a preferred server, meaning if you start up a new character on Goblin, you will get the road to 60 buff, which is a 3x XP buff on all sources, all jobs, up to level 60. This includes all adventure jobs, crafting, and gathering jobs as well.

We can’t wait until we will see everyone in Shadowbringers and will be coming back to the AIE podcast soon to provide some initial thoughts and impressions of the expansion!

Fleet colony is upgrading to tier 1. We unlocked tier 1 of each of the three branches giving us a daily production of resources for the coming projects. I unlocked the coffer donation ability for everyone in the fleet, so they can now donate coming resources even if the projects are currently filled up. Crystalline event is currently going on.

Hmmmm what else....MFN is every Sunday at 8:30 pm Eastern.

WoW Battle for Azeroth -

Patch 8.2 has hit release candidate status on the PTR and if past history is any indication, it should come out around the same time (July 2nd) as the FFXIV expansion. There will be two new zones to explore, tons of daily activities to participate in, and new group content with a new Mega-Dungeon (not to be confused with SWTOR’s Mega events).

Burning Crusade Timewalking starts Tuesday.

Midsummer Fire Festival starts Friday.

Fireworks spectacular on July 4.

Luminous Luminaries is July 13.

Auction House Dance party is making a come back on July 22.

Alliance Guild Update -

The Alliance guild is still going strong. We currently have 167 characters in the guild, and we are adding new people every week.

The Alliance raid team is 4/9 in Normal BFD and we have voted on an official team name. HFO = Hell Froze Over. We raid on Friday nights from 8pm server/Eastern to 11pm. We are recruiting and accepting cross-faction friends.

Game:

Game update 5.10.3 was pushed out one week to June 4th. The Pirate Incursion event that it introduces will run for two weeks, along with a 1 week double xp event.

The livestream promised for 5/30 went off without a single power outage or cut fiber. Eric, Keith, and Charles talked in great detail about how gearing is going to work in Onslaught (the expansion coming in October). For anyone interested in the details, Eric made a post with all the nuts and bolts. MFN on Tuesdays, every Tuesday. Depending on what we do, you may need to be level 50+ to attend in game, but if you are not that high level yet, come join us in discord and chat with us anyway.

June MEGA is coming up! June 14th. Marcus will lead us to victory against the Ancient Threat--a mysterious and powerful entity hidden away on Yavin IV.

New Fate System!

In the new Shadowbringers area, fates will reward tokens that can be turned in for special rewards.

Side Quests

All side quests in Shadowbringers are leveled synced for your current level, starting at 70. Even the quest mobs will be synced, much like leves.

Crafting and Gathering Quests

Cross-world Linkshells

Expanded to 8 channels, instead of just one.

Housing items can now be previewed!(FC Housing Manager position still open!)

New Interrupt system

If a skill can be interrupted, you will see the enemy cast bar pulse. You will also see visual feedback that the cast was interrupted.(Much like WoW’s button flashing when you can interrupt)

MP and TP Systems.

The TP is gone!

MP will be capped at 10,000. Skills will use a percentage of your MP, just as it always have. Now the math is easy.

Pet System Redo

Pets are no longer targetable or hurt by enemies or PC actions

Pet actions are removed from pet hotbars because they will be recategorized as normal actions

Pet roles will be revised

A single button will use similar skills, depending on what pet is summoned.

Tank Roles-Biggest change is changing tank stance to an threat generating only stance.

Healer Roles-Healers will be refocused back on a more pure healing role, rather than the hybrid DPS they are now.

DPS Roles-Most DPS roles will have a similar feel, but Machinist is almost like a new job.

Tetsemi- ESO

Elswyer is in early access and so far AIE members have been having a lot of fun creating necromancer toons and slaying dragons. The Dragon fights are world bosses on steroids. It take a lot of people to kill one, but the loot makes it worth the repair bill. We did a couple of the intro quests for the zone for MFN and without spoiling anything, there are a couple of call backs to the main story line which is nice.

MFN happens at 9pm est every Friday night, depending on attendance we do dungeon runs, zone clears, and now possibly dragon hunting.

STO wants to remind you that they are having their normal MFN tonight at 830 Eastern(Right now!)

They are still working on the Fleet Spire and Colony, feel free to hop in to help.

NOMADS

The Division 2 Title update 3 was released and the "Dark Hours" raid went live this past week. A new 8 player mission. The next "Apparel Event" is also live and you can collect special outfits until June 6th. If you're interested in raiding in the Division 2, visit the AIE discord channel #division2 and check the pinned topics.

Diablo 3's Season 17 has begun. It brings the usual fare of seasonal cosmetic rewards and additional stash tabs. Some new quality of life changes include a search feature in the stash and the addition of 3 more Torment levels: 14, 15, and 16. This season's theme is "The Season of Nightmares." Every character will receive the bonus "Legacy of Nightmare (LoN). "This means that everyone will enjoy the powerful benefits of the “no Set” Set and any and every Ancient Legendary you find is that much more valuable."

If you're a Diablo 3 player and want to hop in for a power level this season or run rifts with AIE members, make sure to hop into Discord's #nomads channel and say hello. We have a community available for you to join as well.

The next Mega will be… FRIDAY June 14!!! 9pm Eastern IMP SIDE

More news: Our MFN leads have come up with a new idea for our MFN schedule. We'll be running a series of operations as part of MFN, but since it's hard to complete the operation in a single night, whatever we don't finish we will schedule for a following week. The trick there is that a handful of heroes will go in early, before MFN, and clear some of the bosses to get the MFN group a progressed lockout. Should be fun and should get more people a chance to see end bosses.

The launch date for 5.10.3 "The Dantooine Incursion" is set for 5/28/19. Pirates, pets, mounts, new armor looks, decos and even an Ugnaught companion! Ok, one pet. But lots of pirates.

Early access to Elsweyr begins on May 20th and official release is June 4th. Please save the beginning quest for that zone on at least one toon until the the first MFN after the official launch because our MFN that night will be starring that zone together. Until then MFN’s will be zone clears and dungeon runs every Friday night at 9pm EST

The living world season 4's final episode, War Eternal is out. It features a new mount, the skyscale dragon, that can hover and climb walls. Be sure to log in to a toon to unlock the episode even if you don't have Path of Fire.

They also released a new legendary weapon, the great sword Exordium. This is the final legendary weapon that was promised us for Heart of Thorns, and was worth the wait, having many custom animation and transformations.

FFXIV

The Event poll is still up, if you are listening to this live. The poll will close at 11:59pm EST on Sunday. Get your voices heard!

The FFXIV x FFXV crossover event is still running until May 27th! There is still time to get the car 4-player mount. We will be running the Jackpot II FC buff on the weekends to help get those MGPs to get that mount.

Reminder, Shadowbringers: Early Access for pre-orders starts up on June 28th. Pre-ordering today also get you an earring that levels with you and gives you an xp bonus to level 70 on all battle classes. (If it sounds like a WoW Heirloom, is because it acts almost identical to it.)

The next FFXIV Live Letter is scheduled for Thursday, May 23rd at 1:30pm EST from media tour in San Francisco. We are expecting to hear some more details on Shadowbringers, job changes, and the ever mysterious "miscellaneous announcements." This live letter will include the translators, so no need to brush up on your Japanese to understand what is going on!

This can change every Tuesday, but as of this recording, Goblin, the server that AIE plays on, is a preferred server for new characters. New characters created during this time will get a double xp bonus on all xp sources, all jobs, until level 60.

Again, if you only have the starter edition, Heavenward, the first expansion, is free for you for a limited time. Just head over to the SE store and "buy" it for 0 dollars and 0 cents. PS4 folks, you can get the same deal on the PSN.

Fleet Updates

Last week we completed construction on our Tier 2 Spire in the Dyson's Sphere. Our goal is to complete the Spire to Tier 3. In Star Trek Online we have many bases that the fleet can visit and hangout in. They are similar to the Guild Ships in SWTOR, but also unlock gear and abilities that players can purchase for their characters.

Most Sunday Nights we have an MFN at 8:30 PM Eastern. We usually run new content and if there's an event going on we will run that. Like all good engineers, we work on getting a little more out of those warp cores, or whatever bit of tech needs adjusting. Episodes are sometimes run if a new player needs help leveling.

Major Game Updates

New Reputation was release this week, Discovery Legends. This new reputation is Discovery themed that includes three new sets of gear, Burnham’s Resolve (3 Piece Ground Set), Lorca’s Ambition (3 Piece Space Weapon Set) and Stamets-Tilly’s Ingenuity(4 Piece Space Set).

Along with the release of the new reputation, a new season of episodes was released, Rise of Discovery. So far two episodes have been released and focus around what happens prior to when Lorca takes command of the Discovery....

AIE News

We had an all officer meeting over the weekend and do that periodically, on top of meetings more often in individual game divisions. Blizzcon planning for meetups was a key point of discussion and the posts in #events outline the current plan.

We are also working on some minor updates around the guild websites and other communication tools, so keep an eye out for that.

The various streams and podcasts for AIE are a really great way to see what's going on and engage. We are always looking for more AIE streams, blogs, etc to get posted to the content creators channel and really like seeing that stuff there.

Just a note, the AIE Meetup is no longer active. The sites wasn’t being utilized and as a group our size required a monthly fee, it has been shut down. Please feel free to utilize the events channel in discord for real life gatherings.

In-game: Syreyne will be starting an Alliance raid team towards the end of May and anyone interested should ping her in the raid recruitment channel on discord.

Next monthly event is next weekend, Saturday at 9 pm EDT I believe on the Republic side. Fun with World Bosses.

The Wednesday night Imperial ops team is looking for a permanent DPS addition to the team. Anyone interested should contact Maellung in the SWTOR Discord channel.

The Tier 6 ship item from above and the riposte event are still going on, see details in discord.

The fleet spire is constructing tier 2 upgrade and will complete in just over 6 days. This will unlock the fleet variants of the veteran ships.

Also, Star Trek Online is free to play and we have MFNs most Sunday nights at 8:30 PM Eastern. In an upcoming week, for MFN, we will focus on low level characters to help new players go through missions and story. You just need to finish the tutorial missions

There are also close to releasing a new rep, Discovery Legends.

War continues and the merge of some global factions into the mix has made things interesting. The corp is always looking for new pilots and spies. It's a bit of a dive down the rabbit hole but the team there is always happy to support everyone.

GW2

Lots of people working on alts at the moment. MFN groups still get together on Mondays on occasion. Check in with Dejara to get something going. Also check the Discord channel pins for a new reference post that does a good job of laying out the open world changes that have occurred over time.

FFXIV

The callback campaign is on. Have someone from the FC or someone on your friend's list send you an in-game invite back to the game. Doing so will get you reward for both of you!

April 25-June 3rd.

The invited player must have an expired sub for 90 days and still have their account in good standing (i.e. not be banned).

The invited player will get 7 days of free game time, 99 Aetheryte tickets (free teleports, 1 per ticket), and 10 silver chocobo feathers which can be turned in for gear to get caught back up.

The inviter will get 10 gold chocobo feathers, which can be used to buy items like the Twintania mount, 2 person chocobo mount, rare dyes, or Aetheryte tickets of your own.

The FFXIV x FFXV crossover event is still going until May 27th.

If you complete this level 50 event, you can then purchase cosmetic items, such as the Regalia, the game only 4 person mount, currently.

The mount costs 200,000 Manderville Gold Saucer (MGP) points. To assist, the Free Company will be running the FC buff, "Jackpot 2" on Saturday and Sunday during the event. This will provide a bonus of all MGP rewards.

Various ways of getting MGP have been discussed in the #ffxiv channel in discord, so drop on by if you want some ideas on farming them up. With the current rewards and the buff, many players have been able to get enough MGP in 1-2 weeks of time.

If you are on the starter edition, including the Twitch Prime promotion, Square Enix is providing Heavenward for free until June 27th. Once this is added to your account, you get to keep it permanently. This includes the PC version, MacOS, and PS4 editions.

Heavensward is the continuing story of the game to the kingdom of Ishgard, where the Warrior of Light is thrusted into the Dragonsong War and awesome music. This will include all content in the expansion, including patch 3.5, The Far End of Fate which sets the stage for Stormblood.

Shadowbringers is still slated for release on July 2nd, with pre-order getting a head start starting on June 28th. If you pre-order this expansion, you get access to all previous expansions on the head start date.

The FC vault still has some goodies. If you need something from there, grab it! We are trying to populate it with some cosmetics and some other helpful items. Feel free to grab something that strikes your fancy! The Vault is available in all major cities and the FC house.

The Shadowbringers Media Tour will be hitting mid May. We are expecting to get some details on the new classes of Gunbreaker and Dancer classes at this time.

Raid Finder (and Mythic) difficulty for Crucible of Storms will open next week, April 23. Similar to Battle of Dazar’alor, you will need an average item level of 350 to queue for it. To help ensure players get raid ready, we are increasing the maximum item level for certain World Quests rewards. This will include the following:

World Quest rewards will go up to ilvl 370 (from 360)

Emissary equipment will go up to ilvl 395 (from 385)

Emissary Azerite Armor will go up to ilvl 400 (from 385)

Against Overwhelming Odds (when available) will go up to ilvl 395 (from 385)

Once the update is live it will affect active rewards like the Emissaries, so you may want to plan for when you will turn those in.

The cake is still not a lie. Week 3 of the anniversary celebration is underway. This week the focus is on PvP for those extra loot boxes. Next week (week 4) will focus on daily dungeons so Mandatory Fun on Friday will be be focused on doing as many of the random dailies we can. Week 5 is basically a free all. Any of the daily quests in Tamriel will give out the extra loot boxes so chain pull dungeons, share zone dailies, and kill all the things in delves.

It's FFXIV x FFXV Crossover Time!

Join Noctis, as he and his car, the Regalia, (and maybe some Em-Tees) end up on Eorzea! Go with Noct for another adventure!

As you progress, you will unlock more cosmetic gear to give you the Noct look, and it is dyeable as well.

Completing the little story will unlock the Regalia, for 200,000 MGP (Manderville Gold Saucer Points), along with a Noctis hairstyle and Noctis Triple Triad card.

Need some help with grinding out the MGP? The AIE Discord channel for FFXIV has been hopping with ideas and assistance in getting the MGP needed. Fashion Evaluations, Chocobo racing, challenge logs are just a few ideas. To assist, the FC will be running the Jackpot buff this weekend, to give you a bonus to all gained MGP.

For the FFXV music lovers, you will also be able to acquire some of the tunes from FFXV to play in your personal room, inn, or house if you have it. There are 6 orchestral rolls, and they can be purchased after you complete the event story. They cost 1 of the special fate drops in Central Thanalan.

The FC house added a couple of them to the house playlist and we'll rotate them over time.

Speaking of Orchestral Rolls, Abovan got tired of having so many of the faded rolls in his own inventory. As such, he's been crafting them into useable rolls and putting them into tab 2 in the FC vault. When he makes others, I'll keep putting them in there. If you need another orchestral unlock, go ahead and grab one.

Remember the Twitch Prime Loot for FFXIV Starter Edition is still good until May 3rd. Until then, you will be able to get the full license of the base game, levels 1-50, and get 30 days of game time. (Would run you 20 bucks if you wanted to buy it yourself.)

Of course, anyone is welcome to join us. PS4? No problem. Mac? No problem. All editions of the game are on the same servers and can interact with each other. So, don't have that super-powered PC anymore? A PS4 (even the normal, non-pro) plays the game just fine.

Execute Operation: Riposte!

Operation Riposte is the first major Federation offensive of the Klingon-Federation War of 2256-57. After nearly a month of crushing defeats, the Federation initiates a bold new plan to regain initiative in the war. The planet of Priors World has recently been conquered by the Klingons, but the Federation counter-attack aims to not only wrestle control of that world back into Federation hands, but also to deliver the first major defeat to the Klingons and thereby inject a much needed morale boost back into the ranks of Starfleet.

This event will last for 3 weeks starting on April 18th for PC players, and on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in mid 2019. All players level 10 and above will be able to participate, and can earn a TFO Commendation once every 20 hours.

This event will also debut a brand new system for Star Trek Online. Earn progress toward a Free Ship by participating each day in the Featured TFO Events that will be running from now until Fall of 2019. By playing these three Events, you can earn Coupon Progress Tokens each day, allowing you to eventually claim a '100% Discount Coupon: Tier 6 Ship' that will allow you claim a free Tier 6 Starship of your choice from the Zen Store.

He was banned from the game for allegedly leaking NDA'd materials from being a member of Space Congress. IRL politician is mad, asserts his innocence.

Then our beloved CCP comes out and releases a statement that admits they didn't really do a full investigation around the alleged NDA leaks and banning him in the first place.

The memes are rampant, EVE mirrors real life, it's a nightmare.

This week @AIESema, @MaxTheGrey and Astromech EPC-286 walk through the Dreadful Entity fight… because we, along with an awesome cross guild group, did it this week!

NOMADS

AIE in The Division 2. The Clan is doing well and having a lot of fun in the game. We're rank 17 (out of 30) with 27 members total.

The first post-launch content update was released this past Friday and unlocks the new World Tier 5 that features the latest Stronghold: Tidal Basin. Also, the first "Apparel Event" titled "Invasion" is running until May 2nd. During this time you can earn up to 30 apparel items. Should you earn them all during the event you'll be awarded a special apparel item: The Black Tusk uniform. These 30 items will be available in the usual apparel caches and store after the event, but you can only earn the special Black Tusk uniform during the event. Apparel items include clothing, weapon skins, and emotes.

The first raid, an 8 player activity, will go live on April 25th, later this month and our clan members are eagerly awaiting it. Get in and gear up now. Ask about the game in AIE Discord's #thedivision2 text channel. Receiving an invite is as simple as asking for one there for your UPlay ID. You can also look up the clan, "AIE Nomads", and request an invite that way.

WoW

The AIE Alliance guild is growing with 119 characters currently. Reminder, you just need to submit an application in Umami, leave the Faction as Horde and the officers will correct it when reviewing the application. Don’t worry about the level either, just race/class and name and you’re set.

We are still having issue with gmail accounts, so check the LFO channel for acceptance, as the officers will announce when they’ve accepted those applications.

In game news, the Artifact Knowledge ramp up will continue for the next 4 weeks to make sure everyone is ready for the 8.2 content. A number of players have reached level 50 on their necklace and currently you do not get anything for completing WQ’s that award just azerite.

Patch 8.2 is soon to be on the PTR (encrypted currently) and several outlets have had interviews with Ion Hazzikostas on what’s to come, mostly around systems, flying and very little on content spoilers.

WoWHead and MMO-Champion both have good write-ups and links to the originals, though, be warned, some are in languages other than English and no, not Nerglish.

THE CAKE IS NO LONGER A LIE!!! The 5 year celebration started this week in ESO. Pick up a Jubilee cake Voucher for free from the Crown Store to get your 2019 Anniversary Cake. The first time each day you use the cake, you will get a 2 hour 100% XP buff and 2 event tickets. The event tickets are once per day per account, but the buff can be used for the entire duration of this 5 week celebration event. Each week of the event will involve something different.

Week 1 - do your daily crafting writes to get Gift Boxes that will contain various style pages.

Week 2 - Complete daily delves and world bosses to earn Gift Boxes.

Week 3 - ugh PVP in cyrodiil and battlegrounds.

Week 4 - The daily dungeons and trials will reward a Gift Box

Week 5 - Your choice. Do any of the daily quests in Tamriel to get Gift Boxes.

Game Update 5.10.3, "The Dantooine Incursion" has been announced, with more info coming this month.

If you, like us, know every word of A New Hope, then you will remember that Dantooine is the planet that Princess Leia told Grand Moff Tarkin was the location of the rebellion's secret base. She was trying to keep him from blowing up Alderaan. This was a lie, of course, as the rebel base had been moved by then. The action in SWTOR takes place long before any of this, though.

We only know a little bit about this update, but we do know that it will include a new recurring event.

Also, we will be getting a double rewards week coming April 16th-23rd.

SWTOR Guild News

There was an AIE meetup in Boston on March 29th and much fun, and possibly beer, was had by all.

Star Wars Celebration!

April 11-15th in Chicago. A number of AIE'ers will be there and meeting up. Check out Max's post in the #events channel in discord if you think you might be in the area and want to swing by. You don't have to have SWC tickets for the meetup.

A cross-guild event that Marcus has been working on tirelessly for several weeks came to fruition this month. Members of AIE and two other guilds downed the secret boss in Terror from Beyond called the Dreadful Entity. This was a major effort because it involved getting more people together than any of the guilds had, getting them all a particular drop from a particular boss, getting an item to summon the boss, and clearing part of the Operation ahead of time. Credit goes to guildie Medullah for betting Marcus a million credits that he could not do it.

April MEGA will April 19th and is called "Ossus Takeover".

MFN continues on Tuesday nights at 9PM Eastern, alternating weekly between the Imperial and Republic sides. If you are ever wondering which side we are on, there is always dated message posted in the Guild Message of the Day. There is no gear level requirement!

After months of speculation, 3 Fan Fests, and tons of rumors, we have a pretty good take on what we will be doing in FFXIV on July 2nd, with a headstart for pre-orders on June 28th.

Where are we going? The First! A parallel universe that has some other problems. As the Warrior of Light, we fought back the darkness on Eorzea. The First has its own problems. Too much light energy, frying the world like a tater tot left in the deep fryer waaaay to long. So, as the hero, we will be sent to the First and to save Eorzea, we will need to save the First from the light, we so we will need to become the Warrior of Darkness to make things awesome again!

In terms of what it looks like, we are looking at a more “high fantasy” artstyle in Shadowbreakers. Lots of bright colors (going with the light theme), nature zones (again, 24-hour sunlight), and large, over the top cities.

What will be doing?

Questing! Saving the First! And running dungeons, which there will be 9 at launch. By comparison, Heavenward and Stormblood at 8 at launch.

New classes? You bet.

Gunbreaker! Gun wielding tank! Remember Final Fantasy 8, with Squall with his gunblade?

Well, like that, but without the self loathing.

 

Just announced, Dancer! Ranged DPS class! Throwing weapons at range, as well as dances to debuff the bad guys and buff the good guys.

The new classes will tentatively start at level 60.

New Races? Two of them!

The Viera!

The bunny-like race that lives in the trees. But where are the boy bunnies? Well, they are rare, so rare that players will not be able to be male Viera.

Newly announced new race, the Hrothgar!

A beast-like race will be playable as a male only race.

Combat changes? You betcha!

Game Update 5.10.2 ‘Heralds of Victory’ is on the Public Test Server right now and includes the new dynamic preview window and the new Guild Heraldry feature. Also, Bioware has bitten the development bullet and is re-working how interactable objects are created for the game. This effort will make world building, quest building, and probably just about everything easier to do and maintain in the future.

We are looking forward to news in April during Star Wars Celebration!

Star Wars Celebration - April 11th-15th in Chicago, There will be an AIE meetup coming as well as the SWTOR Cantina, which will be April 13th at 7:00pm CDT Marriot Marquis Chicago in the Grand Ballroom.

March MEGA was an awesome, possibly even EPIC night of guild pvp. April MEGA details to come.

MFN continues on Tuesday nights at 9PM Eastern, alternating weekly between the Imperial side and the Republic side. There is no gear requirement--literally. For some activities you may have to be level 50, though.

The Jester's festival started on March 21st and will run until Tuesday April 2nd at 10am EST and during the event you get to use an item that will give you a 100% exp boost.

There is a jester located outside of Ebonheart, Vulkhel Guard, and Daggerfall. You can do one quest for them each day that will give a reward box. Also the first one you do each day has a chance for some unique style pages and mementos (plus 2 event ticket)s. Sadly, once again you can only earn the event ticket on one character per account per day.

Some of the achievements related to this event involves throwing 10 pies at people Thank you Looci for standing still and letting all of us AD folks toss pies at you for the first part of our MFN so we could get one of the achievements without needed to pelt strangers.

FFXIV

The FFXIV Japanese Fanfest has wrapped up. With Shadowbringer's release, you'll be available to adventure in the lands of Eorzea (and beyond) with two new races and two new classes!

For the races, we now have the female only Viera, and the male only Hrothgar, a race inspired by the Ronso of FF10. On top of that, after reaching level 60 in any other job, you'll be able to take up the mantle of a Gunbreaker (a tank inspired by the gunblade wielders of FF8) and Dancer, a ranged dps using chakrams as their weapon to deal damage from afar while supporting their party with powerful dances

March 26 (that's Tuesday!) Is patch 4.26, Requiem for Heroes - Part 2. MSQ will be wrapping up Stormblood and setting the stage for Shadowbringers.

April 23rd is the North American Data Center expansion and the start of the World Visit system. Free transfer will be available will lessened restrictions, from April 23rd to May 6.

AIE is on Goblin, our server will be moved to the new Crystal Data center. AIE will not be moving servers so that means grouping with AIE members will need you to be on the Crystal Data center.

Although, we'd love to see you on Goblin and with the AIE FC, we do realize that some of you have other commitments, communities, as well. As such, we do also run a cross world linkshell. AIE FC members, AIE community members and friends of AIE are welcome to join. Please drop in the discord or an officer to get an invite.

But most importantly, more Hildabrand on patch 4.56.

There has also been a new TFO released this week, Peril over Pahvo. This is continuing the Mirror of Discovery story line and takes place in orbit over Pahvo. Complete the TFO on 14 different days to earn the Terran Guerilla Combat Armor in addition to marks, dilithium, and three Featured TFO Reward Boxes. The event lasts a little under 3 weeks

Anthem - Got to level 30 and have been poking into GM1 Strongholds and Missions and finally ticked over to Masterwork Colossus. The only piece that’s not Masterwork is my Z Shield, can’t seem to get anything to drop for it. I’ve got 2 of the 3 reputations through level 3 and working on the Sentinel reputation, ½ way to level 3. Also started equipping the other mechs with universal gear from the Colossus runs so they’re all rare/epic level right now, but still have slots with white quality in them because it’s javelin specific drops.

Role Playing D&D - We solved the murder on the flying boat, it was a gnome who finally snapped after one too many people ran over him and/or didn’t notice he was there and would cut in front of him, steal his food, etc. The last person to trip over him, was a druid, and he snapped, grabbed a ceremonial vine she had on her wrist and strangled her with it. He would have got away with it too, if he hadn’t kept the vine on him.

WoW - FERT Raiding, finally got King Rastakhan down and Mekatorque and tried Blockade which lived up to it’s name so we’ve reset for the week.

Almost have my necklace to level 44 (I need to knock out 4 islands before Tuesday to put it over the top) so I’m happy with the pace I’m keeping on it.

Finished the War Story (as it is so far) on both Horde and Alliance and really enjoying seeing it from both sides.

I have all the allied races unlocked and currently am focused on my Mah’gar Orc Shaman who just hit Northrend. Once she’s done, I’ll focus on my Zandalari Paladin for her armor and then hopefully they’re done with allied races for this expansion so I can flip over to AIE Alliance and level up my Void Elf Hunter, Dark Iron Paladin, Kul Tiran Druid (of course), Light Forged Dranaei Paladin, and Dwarf Hunter (for the heritage armor). I really love the idea of the allied races and their heritage armor, but c’mon, 90 to 100 levels is just … getting … old. I realize the leveling has been sped up, but mentally, it’s just such a daunting number.

A bit of a brag about Noob Raid. We are now 8/8 on Uldir Normal. Our first time ever seeing Ghuun and we killed him on the 1st pull (which was an accidental pull). We then followed that up by going 3/9 in BD'A Normal.

The Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood celebration event started on March 7th and rungs until Monday March 18th 10am est. The event gives double reward drops for World and Delve Boss kills, increased rewards for completing Heists and Sacraments, and 1 event ticket for each Sacrament and Heist completed each day per account.

In guild related news, MFN is still Friday night at 9pm est.

FFXIV

General items: The Free Company attendance is way up. Many folks are taking advantage of the Amazon Prime deal which gets you a free copy of the Starter Edition which also comes with 30 days of game time. The Starter Edition is the vanilla version of the game, taking players up thru level 50 and associated 2.x patches. Many of these players have been sticking around, and have jobs in various levels. Now is a great time to start your adventure in Eorzea with AIE. The Twitch Prime deal lasts thru May 3rd, but we'd love to see you in the game today!

But what about those that do not have Twitch Prime? Or maybe your desktop or laptop may need a refresh so most of your modern gaming is done on the PS4? (sorry, no xbox1 or switch version yet) Well, there is a free trial that you can download that will let you play the game up to level 35. You can not join a Free Company with this type of account, but you will be able to join a cross world linkshell, which is FFXIV speak for a chat channel that spans over multiple servers. You will be able to talk with AIE folk there, as well as talk with people in the AIE community that may have characters on other servers. Of course, you can always talk to us in Discord as well.

As many of the people who are taking advantage of the Amazon Prime key are hitting 50, the ending 8-player dungeons do have some brutal queue times. Do yourself a favor and ask in Free Company Chat or Discord for people to jump in the queue with you. We can take a 45 min-1h queue to 15 seconds, and we want to help you.

The Shadowbringers pre-order bonus items, the little baby Gremlin and the Aetheryte Earrings, an item that scales with you, modifies its stats for your job, and provides a 30% boost in XP gained while level 70 and below are available now for preorders.

Quick tip for pre-orders. To get the bonus do the following. Get the code from your retailer, SE Store will have the code from their store, Amazon will email you a code. Take the code and follow the web link in the email or store page. This will take you to the pre-order bonus page. Pick your platform and then enter the code you were given. This will output a code that you can put into the mog station to get your pre-order bonuses.

DC redistribution is happening soon! Goblin, AIE's server, will be moved to the new Crystal data center. At this time, AIE will be riding the Goblin wave and remaining on the server as it is migrated over to Goblin. When the redistribution happens, there will be free transfer provided with relaxed item and Gil limits. If you have other characters elsewhere, transferring to Goblin may be an option for you.

Fun nights are still Wednesday. Other options (nights and times) are being considered, but let us know in Discord on your suggestions! However, we do have a sizeable crew on every night! You don't need to wait for a fun night to have fun with AIE! Talk in FC chat, join voice and dive into your adventures together

The Seasonal event, Little Ladies' Day, will be wrapping up on March 13th. Don't forget to get your change to get the seasonal items, such as the Flower Crown and the housing items Festive Chirashi-zushi (your guess is as good as mine), Festive Sushi Balls, and Magicked Prism Daisies before they go up on the Mog Station.

The final pre-expansion fan fest will be held on March 23-24 over in Japan (A little under 2 weeks away!) What will be announced? What weird costume will Yoshi-P come out as? Will we get the full trailer for the expansion? Will the time zone difference mess with our sleep schedules? We'll find out then!

Guild news: STO continues to run a MFN on Sunday night at 8:30PM Eastern. Characters level 10(Lieutenant Commander) and up are welcomed.

Game news front, on April 11th, they will be shutting down the Foundry system. The Foundry was a tool used for players to create content for the game.

Tetsemi’s week (since he has no voice) - Got in FFXIV, playing an archer, at level 24 with various professions as well, very fun so far, good story and entertaining combat.

Bought Anthem and playing the heck out of it while recovering from the flu (would not recommend, the flu. Anthem is great). Level 14 playing the Colossus (tank mech, go figure) and did my first Stronghold. Was super fun and helped me figure out what all my key bindings actually do.

We have quite a few folks playing on the PC, with at least one on XBox and one of PS4. Durus has pinned a list of Origin names at the top of the #anthem channel in AIE Discord. The top 5 contributors on your friends list award you extra XP based on you Alliance ranking which goes up every time you complete a mission and will get your gold to spend in the vanity shops. Hop on in, it’s a fun game. If you just want to try it out, you can purchase the one month Origin access and unlock it and a lot of other Origin games while your sub is active.

Big shout out to the people at Blizzard doing the hard work to make this game right now and to all the folks that got laid off after the Tuesday earnings call. The gaming industry as a whole seems to be very much in flux right now and job stability isn’t really there for a lot of hard working folks putting everything they can into making the games we love.

- Kini, any NOOB raid updates for us?

Kini- Noob Raid one shot Zul and Mythrax last night, after clearing the previous bosses. It was awesome.

SWTOR

Swtor got a new lair boss called "Hive of the Mountain Queen". It's on the planet Ossus and is basically a monster created by an insane Sith Lord. It's giving everyone a good time. We downed in on story mode in our raid teams and also during MEGA, which we did in 16 man mode with the help of friends and one lone (but awesome) pug. Also, someone who shall remain nameless (Marcus) set off a bomb that killed 12 of us. We are thinking that record will stand for a long, long time. The next harder mode (Veteran) is giving everyone fits. We are up for the challenge though!

Speaking of MEGA, February's MEGA was this past Friday and killing the Hive Queen is not the only thing we did. We went to Ossus and got the two latest datacrons. Both of them were essentially jumping puzzles with one of them being in such close quarters that at certain camera angles you could see the inside of your own head. Thankfully, our good jumpers got to the target and were able to summon the rest of us.

In podcast news, both Working Class Nerds and The Escape Podcast are still going strong with WCN hitting their 37th episode and EPC their 280th.

In guild news

- The guild in SWTOR has officially retired the requirement for new members/alts to put in applications. If you know someone that wishes to join AIE in SWTOR, just give them the discord info and tell them to ask for an invite there.

- BCavanagh wrote and compiled responses for a survey regarding people's preferences for MFN. We will be using that info to help us decide from week to week what activities we do in MFN.

- Look for a survey in the near future from Marcus about what your preferences are for MEGA going forward.

Reminder that MFN is on the Republic side this week.

The Annual Burn Jita Player event is currently taking place. This is where hundreds of players converge on the largest market and in the game and kill Hundreds of Billions of isk worth of shipping traffic every day. Traffic advisory is recommended at least through Tuesday.

Our sympathies to the ArenaNet GW2 team , who are currently going through layoffs.

On Tuesday the new Warclaw WvW mount becomes available! It is useable in PvE as well. We don't know yet how it will be claimed, but it will almost certainly involve WvW playing, so if you want to know how to WvW, come talk to us in the gw2 discord channel.

The LOTRO team just published their Producer’s Letter yesterday, and it’s a look ahead for the year.

First, our most important goal for the year is to continue to tell your ongoing story. We are excited to continue the Black Book of Mordor as it winds through Middle-earth and leads players to our next expansion. The tale will take us to the Vale of Anduin, where we will explore the history, important events, and secrets of that area. As the year continues, we will unveil more tales in the Vale, and then follow the story back towards Mordor to Minas Morgul itself. Among the many dangers you’ll face will be Shelob herself as you learn what she has been up to, and how she is influencing the future of Middle-earth.

And in ongoing event news, the Skirmish Event continues through March 11th!

GAME NEWS

Update 21 arrives February 25th for PC players. It contains a new Battlegrounds map for PVP called Eld Angar that has several different game types available such as Capture the Relic, Domination, and Chaosball using one area of the version of the map and Crazy King and Deathmatch using another. (don't ask me what any of this means, I don't pvp)

There will also be new PvP rewards for people who compete in both the Alliance War and Battlegrounds.

Also the first part of the Season Of the Dragon adventure starts on the 25th as well. with the release of the Wrathstone DLC. A four person dungeon called the Dwarven Vault of Mhuvnak will open which has new Dwarven automations, deadly traps and goblins to get in the way of reaching the objective. Rewards that can drop from this dungeon included 3 new armor/weapon sets and a new Monster Mask.

This new DLC is available for all ESO plus members and in the crown store.
