The Albion Roar

By request, the show from 2017 with this week's birthday boy, Plymouth Argyle fan Richard Vaughan is being re-posted. Richard famously posted the 'I see the scum FA...' post in December 1996, which ultimately led to Fans United.

This was recorded the night before the home match with Burton Albion five years ago, where the club properly looked after him and his father Roger, nearing the end of our promotion season to the Premier League.

An implausibly optimistic, celebratory show after our excellent win against Arsenal. Plus we discuss Sean Dyche's sacking, and talk about what the Albion's 'War Years' meant to a then-outsider.

Albion hero of the 1996/97 season, Stuart Storer joined Al from his Bedworth United clubhouse to chat over some of the most worrying, outrageous times in the Albion's history - culminating in the club's exit from the Goldstone Ground, 25 years ago this month.

Journalist, musician, and all-round good egg Nick Szczepanik joins Ady & Al to discuss the so-called malaise at Brighton, the World Cup draw, the farce of the World Cup being Qatar, and the 25th anniversary of Brighton's last game under the floodlights at the Goldstone - and much more.

Shirt of the Week is where there be Dragons.

It would be nice to talk about a decent win. Or a goal. But the wheels have come loose for the season, so Jason, Ady and Al aim for transcendental collective positivity - with the exception of Harry Kane - when talking about the Liverpool and Spurs matches.

Even Shirt of the Week is a pyjama top.

Fresh from a day of talking about Chelsea and the international sanctions against owner Roman Abramovich, Kieran Maguire talks about Chelsea and the international sanctions against owner Roman Abramovich.

We are also joined by Albion legend - and arguably the best player to wear the stripes, Mark Lawrenson.

Shirt of the week is one of Lawro's old tops.

We invited Brighton & Hove Albion Supporters Club Chairman Nigel Summers on to the show to give his lowdown on the Aston Villa game, plus the history of the Supporters' Club, 25 years since THAT game against Leyton Orient. Plus we pay tribute to Shane Warne.

Maillot du semaine est français.

With a dirge of a game to try and avoid, we invited Scott Coyne from 'The Belgian Football Podcast' to give us the lowdown on domestic football in Belgium, and the rise of Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in particular.

Even Shirt of the Week is Flemish.

Two games to contemplate - Watford and Manchester United away. Vicki, Ady & Al review two similar performances with different referees, and different outcomes.

Shirt of the Week is a Royal affair...

The Argus' Brian Owen and football finance expert Kieran Maguire offer some upfront and behind the scenes gossip and opinion on this week at Brighton & Hove Albion. The FA Cup exit, the Technical Director exit, and the exit - er, exciting - run in as the Albion go for highest place ever glory.
