  • Episode 502 – Why Do Content Marketing? It’s all In The Numbers!
One of the inherent problems with social media is other people just don't get it...

Social: of or relating to human society, the interaction of the individual and the group, or the welfare of human beings as members of society

Media: a medium of cultivation, conveyance, or expression

Nowhere in those two definitions does it say connecting with someone online and immediately jumping on messenger to sell them something from someone they don't know, and probably  something they don't want or would ever need.

Yet that's what happens all the time. It's called "Connect & Pitch". And, that one of the major reasons people don't like or spend much time on LinkedIn and other social media platforms.

In this podcast we will examine two bacon knowledge bombs I often share with my presentations.

    *
When you contact a prospect… You are a Salesperson. When a prospect contacts you… You are THE Expert!
    *
I would rather spend 10 minutes with 10 people who already know me… than 10 seconds with 10,000 people who don’t!

The goal is to get people to know, like, and trust you. Not so you can sell them something, but they call you when they need something and they view you as the expert!

  • Episode 500 – Celebration
    Welcome to Episode 500!
This has been a journey of 250 weeks, just 10 (or 2x5) weeks short of 5 years.

In Numerology "The number 5 usually indicates someone who is full of energy (but unable to channel it responsibly)." I humbly disagree with that last point.

"This number brings adaptability, independence of thought and action, and an unwillingness to (completely) conform. The number 5 can be used to increase versatility and independence, but people must guard against an overwhelming desire for change (so as to not be consumed by variation and, thus, unable to maintain happiness without it)."

This podcast was never scheduled when I started. I was not sure if it would make it to episode 5, or 50, but never imagined I would be doing it for 600 and beyond.  It goes LIVE on 9-9-19 (which in its self is kind of ironic?

In Numerology - "9 is wisdom and responsibility, and the ultimate goal of the number 9 is to serve humanity. ... Number 9 learns selflessness and compassion. People with the 9 energy work without motive and their purpose is for the greatest good of all. They have a protective energy and they have great power and love in their soul.

I think the numbers 5 and 9 are really a representation of the almost 200 guest experts who unselfishly graced us with their time, insights and wisdom. Please go back and read that last paragraph and think about how that applies to each (or your favorite) of the guest experts who have graciously appeared on my podcast.

The final number I want to explore is 1. No Numerology here... you... that one listener is the reason I keep doing this. I hear time and again how this podcast has helped and that is the #1 reason I do this, IT IS ABOUT YOU and... I appreciate your time, attention, and support over the last 5 years more than you will ever know!

This episode is a compilation of the 21 past guests who reached out to share their thoughts, stories and congratulations. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did recording and editing it together!
    Special Guests:

  • Episode 498 – What’s Next? Stop Reinventing When You Can Easily Pivot?

Reinvention often means scrapping everything and starting from scratch, or trying to take something that someone has already created, and trying to do it better (the better mouse trap). Starting from scratch takes a lot of time and resources. But, sometimes it's worth it.
For example take Apple and how they went from a company that makes and sells computers, to a company that delivers content (music, movies, games, and apps) to a variety devices (iPods, iPhones, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and licenses that to cars, speakers and more!
Pivoting is a "structured course correction designed to test a new fundamental hypothesis about the product, strategy, and engine of growth. Think of a basketball player that stops and can pivot 360° to send the ball moving in a different direction.
Groupon went from an advocacy business to a company that crowdsources coupons to drive traffic to businesses. It pivoted off of crowdsourcing to become a company that was valued at $1.35 billion (at one time).
In this episode, we will discuss how I have learned to keep what’s working, and remove what's not, that build on that. Pivoting can help you grow bigger and faster than reinvention when it makes sense, but as Kenny Rogers said the the song The Gambler... "You've got to know when to hold 'em... Know when to fold 'em!"

  • Episode 497 – Creating A Healthy Relationship With Failure with Miha Matlievski

One business coach has forged his approach to helping entrepreneurs and business executives by using a monumental personal failure and eventual redemption to help get others where they need to go to find their personal success and fulfillment.
At just 18 years old, Miha Matlievski, a Slovenian high school dropout, dreamed of becoming a successful entrepreneur. And he pursued it with a passion, putting in 12 years of hard work that resulted in four successful businesses and a personal net worth of $15M.
But in December 2009, an unexpected call from his bank, which had decided to foreclose on his real estate investments, brought his world crashing down around him. That one negative event instigated an avalanche of ruin for him and his businesses, resulting in his four, once-successful companies going bankrupt.

Embracing that previous failure, Miha began to climb out of his rut and take charge of his own life once again. In 2014, he created a new startup, generating eight figures in less than a year. Many publications in Slovenia approached him and his story went viral.

Since Miha’s “resurrection,” he has been known as The Fail Coach. In that capacity, he helps entrepreneurs around the world embrace and have a healthy relationship with failure with the goal of reaching a higher level of success.
