Healing is Hard. Facts.
It’s less hard with the right people in your world. And as painful as grief is, it also instantly connects us.
I’m so unbelievably grateful to have today’s guest on The Be Ruthless Show in my life.
Jess Marie is a single mom to a teenage son. She works for the county at the local DSS, primarily with the homeless population and she has another part time job in a similar field. She started her podcast in June of 2022 called Unapologetically Overcoming. It discusses topics that usually have a negative stigma associated with them. Her hope is that by talking about such topics, people will see that they too can overcome difficult situations and hopefully the stigmas can be eliminated. She has been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and an eating disorder. She’s also been a victim of domestic violence & gone through other traumatic experiences, such as the sudden loss of her younger sister, but has been able to overcome them and has found happiness again.
Jess launched her own life coaching business early in 2024 called Unapologetic Life Coaching LLC. She offers services that focus on self love, mindset transformation, gratitude practices, & how to overcome barriers so you can live a full, authentic, unapologetic life. She is currently in the process of becoming a certified grief coach. Since the unexpected loss of her sister, she has discovered new purpose in helping others navigate grief and loss, as it is vital to the healing process.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to concerts, & traveling. She’s also passionate about advocating for racial/social justice, women’s rights, and human rights.
Tune in to hear our important conversation about healing YOUR way. Unapologetically!

Have you ever had an aha about yourself? A realization about something that truly opens your eyes?
That’s me - currently. Shocked at how much I’m loving being back in Michigan. Realizing how much of myself I was missing all of the years in Colorado.
On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss how we can unknowingly get in our own way.

Mistakes are part of life. Successful people make plenty! I’ve learned to laugh (loudly) at mine.
So many people, though, live in a place of shame and embarrassment.
On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss why it’s important to find outlets (people, places, or things) for all of our feelings.

We all understand feeling out of sorts when things are difficult. People are supportive during tough times. But the world celebrates certain things in life.... traditions and accomplishments we work so hard for. Feeling out of sorts is an "unusual" reaction in these situations, right?
On today's episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss emotions other than joy and happiness after celebrations or victories. Exhaustion. Anxiety. Depression. In a world that expects the celebration, people experiencing any other type of emotion can be left feeling "different" and like something is "wrong with them."
Tune in for a conversation about how wrong the world is for NOT making spaces for these people and these conversations!
