How’s everyone doing out there? Well the boys are doing OK I guess. In this romp of an episode, the guys, clearly craving human contact more than anything else, grasp around for even the potential of interaction with a little mailbag segment that lacked both mail and any real questions or desire for a response. Oh well, sorry! They talk about surprising beers showing up on market shelves and beer delivery, before Griff admits to becoming a Mead Pastry Boy. Then, Griff takes Tony on a vision quest into the mind’s eye where he must guess Untappd ratings to avoid certain doom. This show is one quick bite you won’t want to miss!
Hey! Have you seen that show “Celebrity Watch Party?” Well this is not that, because these two guys are ugly, poor and smart! It is content though and we made it all by ourselves. The fellas manage to get out from in front of the television to then go ahead and talk about things that they saw on the television, including Tiger King, the Final Table and other cooking contests. Now I’m not sure how it works though - are the little people inside of my TV? If they are big somewhere else how do they shrink them so they fit on the screen? Seriously, it doesn’t check out! Also Griff leads Tony and the audience in a 14 minute outro. Feel free to talk along!
Well, well, well. Look who decided to show their faces around here. Not these guys because it's audio only and it's another Beer Engine Podcast! This week there was some discussion about Griff re-entering the supply chain of cheap cheese byproduct and robot penis cheese like substances. The guys review the delivery service of one Charles Entertainment Cheese and one of the hosts says something creepy. Also, Griff drinks a little tiny can of stout and Tony introduces us to various Australian lagers - his favorite is Foster's! I'm Tony and I approve this message!
Hey look, it’s another episode of the Beer Engine Pod! Griff and Tony have hoisted themselves out of the quarantine gutter, and they’ve dragged someone along with them! Rob aka Photoman joins in the relative “fun” to rebuke Griff’s claims of a higher understanding of martial artistry. Griff drinks a hazy IPA named for riding the subway, and the fellas embark on a meaningful discussion drawing battle lines between craftsmen and artists. Then things get really serious. Tony and Rob put their fingers and financial well-being on the line in a game of “Two Brews and a Lie,” where they decide which right wing conspiracies or sacrilegious emissions have real life beers named after them. In fact, if you cut this just right, I bet you could make it so Griff sounds like he is a Qanon believer. No! Don’t do that!
What's up? Not much! OK cool - I haven't talked to anyone in a while so this is new to me also! Well gotta go write these show notes for something I did a few months ago. Thanks, nice meeting you! Sorry I said that I'm not used to ending conversations right now, or starting them. It was weird! On this episode Tony and Griff discuss some less prolific styles of beer like....hazy IPAs! If you like the beer talk, this is a good one. If not, tell me your f***ing address because I'm coming over there! Thanks, see ya!
Content! It's here! The boys are graced with the presence of one of the internet's most prolific content generators, Brian Mollica, to talk about, what else? The Coronavirus! From the safety of their homes, the boys get depressed together and virtually hug it out for a while. Then, they get excited for the glorious reopening of the US economy, and as I write this a month or so later, it's not so funny! Because it's happening and it's going to be really, really bad! (This podcast will be recorded again verbatim in June).
Hey! It's the era of corona! But that doesn't mean Griff can't break out some of his old bits. On this one, the guys talk about getting produce brought to their car and beer brought to their house. Griff dusts off his famous "apricot" gag (timestamp not included) - which of course has stood the test of time. I hope these quarantine podcasts are all crystallized in amber, Jurassic Park-style or else they will age very badly. To my friends in 2052, enjoy this audio file on your Apple Brainphone 34 while you hurtle through space.
So it’s our first official show, grab a stool and join us at the bar! We talk about some beer, we have a Griff beer review and Tony does some funny talking. Also, Griff jumps in on the show notes half way through! As stay-at-home orders grip the world, the fellas talk over what's going on in their lives, and reminisce about better times when they were allowed outside. Also, a one year late review of MBCC 2019, and Griff offers tips for beer festival attendees - which I'm sure are useful at this time....this time being whenever your are listening to this....which I don't know when it is.
