Having rescued the points against Sunderland with two second half goals, Brentford were looking to the weekend - and a trip to Preston North End. This is one of the Beesotted crew’s favourite awaydays - with much off the pitch activity lined up to ensure that the football doesn’t spoil the day too much if the result goes the wrong way.

The Beesotted crew linked up back at the Cross Keys Pub in Stamford Brook this week to reflect on two points gained or two points lost. An exciting game of six goals which saw Sunderland go 3-1 up at half time. With two official shots on target. Then Brentford came back at them in the second half to equalise 3-3 and could have easily won the game.

Brentford are on a run. Five leagues games without loss now. OK only two of those are wins but it’s a start. And with underperforming Sunderland coming to town, it’s a perfect opportunity for the Bees to continue their unbeaten streak. 

Unfortunately, it’s never as easy as that.

The last time The Bees beat Sunderland was back in 2006 - DJ Campbell scored a brace to knock The Black Cats out of the FA Cup and send Bees fans into ecstasy. Short lived ecstasy. As a result, Campbell was sold to Birmingham City for about 50 pence. 

The Brentford crew met up in The Tap on the Line pub right in Kew Gardens Station to shoot the breeze and psyche themselves up for the weekend - discussion the Millwall win the weekend before. The hilarious Bob Booker social that preceded the Millwall match. We had a look back at the predictions Championship fans made at the beginning of the season to see who was right and who was way off.

And we speak to Sobsy from A Love Supreme Sunderland Fanzine about all things Sunderland.

Bob Booker was special guest at the first ever matchday social - held on the morning of the Millwall match at The Globe, Brentford.

Bob - straight off the back of his book Ooh Ah - came to Brentford to give his unfiltered version of tales from his time at Griffin Park in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

And a hilarious afternoon it was too. From him recalling the day when his mum met Terry Hurlock's dad who revealed to her his not so reputable occupation. To telling the tale of the team's team bonding session in Cyprus in preparation (or lack of preparation) for the Leyland Daf Final against Wigan.

Proper tales. Proper jokes.
