The thesis in the first part of Seeking and Finding God is “Life continues after death.” And the opposing views of that thesis are: 1) there is nothing beyond death; 2) what lies beyond death is an environment of unconditional acceptance and higher evolution of the species; and 3) death is simply one of the conditions in a continual series of births, deaths, and re-births.

And that opposing view is there is nothing to prepare for; when you’re dead, you’re dead; that’s the end of it all.
Today we’re going to look at another opposing view, that death is followed by unconditional acceptance and it constitutes the next step in our progression, the progression of our existence. It’s really - according to some, it’s a spiritual advancement.

At this time of year, people who otherwise give little or no thought to God or Christ give lip service to the idea that more than 1,900 years ago Jesus was born in Bethlehem and “there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews?” (Mt:2:1-2). Oddly, many Christians who believe Jesus was born “King of the Jews” attach no literal meaning to that title, especially one that has anything to do with Jews. Prophecies concerning Christ ruling the world from David’s throne in Jerusalem are taken as metaphors referring to His present rule from heaven.
