In Episode 52, Kati tells Caleb the heartbreaking story of Deputy Oneal Moore, the first Black deputy sheriffs in Washington Parish, Louisiana.
On the night of June 2, 1965, Deputy Moore and his partner were ambushed while on patrol. Deputy Moore was killed in what authorities have long recognized as a racially motivated attack during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. Although a suspect was identified, no one was ever convicted, leaving the case officially unsolved decades later.
