Healing isn't as straightforward as baking cookies from a recipe; it's more like concocting a personalized potion with a pinch of this, a dash of that, and perhaps a sprinkle of unicorn dust for good measure. 🧙♂️

Do emotions have a purpose? If so, what is it? Are there such things as negative and positive emotions? What are some helpful ways to navigate emotions?
For people with BPD this can be a complex topic. We have very strong emotions and feel things on a deeper level than most. It can seem a lot easier to just not have emotions at all. Emotions however, do play an important role in one's life. Solène breaks it all down with such clarity. Emotion - Energy in motion. Join us on a journey brimming with insight.
Solène Anglaret is a speaker, writer, and consultant on a mission to create a world where everyone belongs. She is the Founder of Be Beyond Borders, author of four books, host of The Inclusion Conversation, and a cast member of The BPD Bunch. What can you do if you can't access or afford DBT therapy with a professional? What if you are on a waitlist and need tools to deal with life right now?
I used to think that I'm totally screwed since I couldn't afford therapy but in this podcast Alicia and Kat discuss options that are totally free!
We also discuss the ACCEPTS part of wisemind of the DBT distress tolerance skills :)
I had an amazing conversation with those two humble yet awesome pioneers and I'm sure you will enjoy this episode too.
Alicia Paz's has a Masters in Counseling Psychology. She has helped those struggling with mental health issues in prison, jail, outpatient, and community settings, but her passion lies in making DBT coping skills more accessible to the general public.
In 2013, Alicia created an online DBT course, and has brought DBT coping skills to over 9,500 students in 119 countries through the program.
Alicia also owns the free DBT resource site DBTSelfHelp.com to assist in making DBT more accessible. DBTSelfHelp.com is the most visited and oldest DBT-focused site online and reached over 50,000 people monthly basis
Kat is the Mental Health Program Manager for Online DBT Skills and the Site Manager for DBTSelfHelp.com. She manages the back end and social media for both and brings a peer perspective to the work. Kat also wrote the content for the revamp of DBTSelfHelp.com.
