Disordered eating isn't talked about all that much. It's a series of behaviors that involve food labels, rules and shame that keep you feeling stuck when it comes to getting healthy or changing the way you eat. Trying to lose weight from a place of self-loathing, disgust, desperation and fear will keep you stuck in a cycle of try-fail, leading to feeling shame and guilt. When you shift to focusing on self-acceptance and appreciation, not only will weight loss not matter as much, but it may even be a bi-product of your naturally healthier choices.
