What happens when someone we love has spent years hoping for a baby and every path forward seems to close? And what would it take to step in and carry that baby for them?

Sometimes love asks us to consider something we never imagined for ourselves.

In this episode, I’m joined by Joy Groover, a mother of two who carried and delivered her niece’s baby at 49.

Joy and I talk about the family dynamics behind her decision and the long road her niece traveled after being diagnosed with MRKH syndrome. Following an unsuccessful uterine transplant and several attempts with other surrogates, Joy sent one simple message asking, “Why not me?” That moment became the beginning of an unforgettable surrogacy journey.

We also talk about the medical clearance, pregnancy screening, and embryo transfer process that led to a positive pregnancy test.
