The conflict between St. Cyril and Nestorius culminates in the Council of Ephesus that not only vindicated St. Cyril's single-subject Christology, but canonized his second letter to Nestorius as a standard for understanding the Creed, and which letter became the basis for the definition of Chalcedon...but that's for a few weeks from now.
