  • Reminiscence review
Welcome to the latest review of yet another disappointing Warner Brothers' film! This time it's the Inception-lite, Blade Runner-wannabe, Reminiscence.

Written and directed by Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy and starring Huge Jackedman and Rebecca Ferguson, this one had promise. Sadly, for Wayne, it also had Thandiwe Newton, whereas for Paul it was just poorly written. And it seems the world agrees, as it has quickly become one of the biggest box office flops of all time.

But it did inspire the guys to continue their discussion post sign off, so, there's that, I guess ...

  • Top 10 Acting Debuts
    Countdown #334

In this week's countdown, Wayne has a thing for Idris Elba's toothpick (or something), Paul is working hard to steal Wayne's thunder, and both think doing South African accents is satirically hilarious. Eventually.

Oh and they're also counting down the Top 10 acting debuts - in case you were wondering - as the Countdown continues!

  • Free Guy review
Free Guy was finally dropped into cinemas this last week, and of course, Paul and Wayne were there to cover it for you, gentle listener. But if you are of a sensitive disposition, maybe skip this review, as one of the boys loved the crap out of Ry-Ry's latest feature, and the other ... not so much.

Much spirited debate, bad language and use of The Soundboard follows.

You have been warned, even as The Countdown continues ...

  • Top 10 Undeservedly Highly-Rated Rotten Tomato Films
    Countdown #333

Are your feathers all neatly in order? Or, if you prefer, do you have a thick skin when it comes to your taste in film? Because it's feather-ruffling time on The Countdown! This Ep should surely come with a trigger warning for lovers of popular film as Paul and Wayne call out their ten most hated films with a Rotten Tomato Audience Score of 80% or over.

Sound convoluted? Just you wait! In fact, the challenge this week is two-fold ... Not only to figure out how the hell the guys decided to go with such a complicated topic, but also to not shut the Ep off once Wayne makes a base joke about one of your fave films, or Paul disses the same because Patrick Swayze was just too damn old!

Are you up to the challenge? Can you rearrange your feathers adequately?

  • The Suicide Squad review
The Suicide Squad hit cinemas and HBO Max in the last week, and there are a bevy of surprises in store for you with this one.

For starters, James Gunn has been allowed to make HIS kind of superhero film with no strings attached. Then there's the fact that most of the critics are loving it. And yet, this won't make a third of the money that the original POS Suicide Squad in 2016 made.

And if those aren't all suprising enough for you, how about the fact that both Paul and Wayne really enjoyed this one? AND one of them goes so far as to proclaim it as his film of the year (so far)!

  • BONUS: The Ice Road review
This week the guys are braving the ultra thin ice to transport wellheads to a group of trapped miners in the Northern most tip of the Americas as they present to you a new BONUS review!

Yes, it's for the newest Liam Neeson actioneer, with thanks to Anarchy PR for the screener, but will the boys survive the dodgy CGI, Liam Neeson old-man fighting, and some extremely dubious professionalism in order to recommend The Ice Road to you?

  • Top 10 New York City Films
    Countdown #332

This week is something a little different on the show, as the guys countdown the very best films set in a particular location. That location, as suggested by Patron Chris O'Neill, is the Big Apple, New York City.

So tune in to hear the oldest film Wayne has ever added to a list, Paul fail to shoehorn in a horror film ... and Paul's consternation at some of the omissions from Wayne's list in favour of some truly obscure choices.

So maybe this Ep isn't that different from the norm after all ...

  • Old review
    M. Night Shyamalan is back! But is the Shyamalanassance officially over?

The boys weigh in with their take on his latest, weird, left-of-centre thriller and for an odd change, they're in almost complete agreement!

  • The Top 10 Mini-Series
    Countdown #331

For this week's episode, Patron extraordinaire David Powell, suggested the boys countdown their ten favourite mini-series of all time, so as to give those listeners still stuck in lockdowns around the world something extra to watch. That, of course, led to lengthy and heated discussions about what constituted a mini-series, but eventually, somehow, miraculously, here is the result.

Paul quickly acknowledges he hasn't watched some of the big favourites out there, while Wayne decides he is the number one card-carrying member of the David Schwimmer Fan Club. Either way, most listeners will find something to be offended by in this Ep. But, hey, that's pretty much what most come to The Countdown for by this point.

Find out just how offended you'll be - LONESOME DOVE! - as The Countdown continues ...

  • Gunpowder Milkshake review
A new week, another action movie review on The Countdown. Except this time, the guys are taking a backseat and the girls are leading the way as Karen Gillan and co kick ALL the asses in Gunpowder Milkshake.

But is this straight-to-Netflix-in-the-North-Americas, stylish, action flick a worthy film in this post-John Wick world? Or is it all too plain and vanilla-y, when it could use a whole lot more malt and other flavours? (See what I was going for there?)
