Journalist and Victim of White Supremacy Cerise Castle's allegations of Workplace Racism attracted intense attention over the week. She formerly worked at KCRW in Southern California, and while being interviewed, Castle recalled coworkers describing her as "militaristic" and having her ideas pilfered and used by others without receiving credit. Although she was addressing her difficulties in the field of journalism, most of the tackiness she describes is rife in all areas of labor. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 14th and final study session on Jeffrey Toobin's The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson. This 1996 New York Times bestseller enjoyed 2 different waves of success. It was critically acclaimed during the initial mid-90's publication and enjoyed a second boon following the award-winning and widely adored 2016 FX miniseries - which is based on Toobin's work. Toobin also pops up in the ESPN documentary: Made In America - which is intense White Supremacy propaganda. Toobin compiled more than a quarter century of journalism, spawned from his coverage of the Simpson trial. He wrote beloved books on the Supreme Court and authored a scathing indictment of President Donald J. Trump. Things were triumphant until the year of the rona. While participating in a live Zoom conference with prominent White journalists, Toobin brandished his penis and began masturbating. He was initially suspended by the New Yorker. After an investigation, Toobin was terminated. We'll keep this in mind while reading his account of the most well documented, most watched court trial of all time. Last week's installment described the testimony of Robert Heidstra. Called by Simpson's defense, Heidstra testified to hearing a fracas around 10:30pm at Nicole Brown Simpson's residence. Although he did not see any of the speakers, Christopher Darden repeatedly asked Heidstra to specify the racial classification of the voices. Johnnie Cochran objected and charged Racism, while Heidstra emphatically denied being able to distinguish the racial identity of the voices. All of this became trivial after the discovery of audio tapes where detective Mark (GED) Fuhrman says nigger continuously and brags about manufacturing evidence and choking suspects. Importantly, Fuhrman returned to the stand and refused to answer any questions to prevent self-incrimination. The Context of White Supremacy welcome reviews the counter-racist logic if the term "non-white." Last week, Suspected Racist Kim Heller scolded Gus for his use of the term. When asked by a caller, Heller said that it would be better to classify people in terms of "black" and "non-black." This is not the first time a White Woman admonished Gus for the use of this word. The C.O.W.S. is recognizing 12 years of broadcasting this month, so we'll revisit the similarities between Kim Heller and Jane Elliott's thoughts on why the term "non-white" should be buried. Rekindling memories of Flint, Michigan and Newark, New Jersey, residents of Texas were warned to boil water before consuming. Conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh died this week at the age of 70. The Suspected White Supremacist verbally blasted black people and non-whites for decades in between abusing prescription medication. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Kim Heller live from South Africa. A self-described settler, author and White Woman, Heller is listed as a media and political strategist and advocate for economic liberation. At the close of 2020, she published No White Lies: Black Politics and White Power in South Africa. The book ostensibly offers an unflinching indictment of White Supremacy in South Africa. Specifically, Heller addresses the failures of the country since the end of so-called apartheid in 1994. Even though the country is supposed to be a beacon of rainbow democracy, the White numerical minority continues to hold majority power over the mostly black population. We'll investigate what motivates Heller to do this work, and how Covid-19 has impacted South Africa over the past year. It seems access to vaccines may be be an issue of Medical Apartheid throughout the world.
