  • Fuel 278: Get ‘Er Done!
    //
    IN TODAY'S FUEL....
    POINT #1: Get 'Er Done Blueberry ManCan
    Passing the gate of wrecking a maserati, Sam Falsafi, the sheepdog of the Warrior Movement, has gotten karma placed back on him.
    Though you may have a vehicle that isn't fancy, if it gets the job done, it shouldn't matter with your overall purpose.
    POINT #2: Getting from Point A to Point B
    Sam didn't care what car he was in because he had a destination that was more exciting then whatever vehicle he was driving in.
    Why do we get distracted by the vehicle and not the experience it's taking them to?
    POINT #3: Lack of Purpose
    Remaining connected to a purpose helps you stay focused on what is most important. If you are not focused on what you want, you will have no big purpose about what matters.
    You don't need everything to be perfect to live a life of having it all; it's about who you can serve.
    QUESTION OF THE DAY:
    Where in your Core 4 (body, being, balance and business) have you started to mindfuck yourself by focusing on all the wrong shit?
    CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:
    Take some time today about getting clear about what you need to do to get a job done.
    QUOTE OF THE DAY:
    "When you're focused on what actually matters you stop worrying about shit that doesn't matter at all."
    -- Sam Falsafi

  • Fuel 277: It Will Not Last
    //
    IN TODAY'S FUEL....
    POINT #1: Hiking With The Sheepdog
    While hiking with Sam Falsafi, they had a vertical experience about temporary states.
    The pain won't last, but neither will pleasure.
    POINT #2: Temporarily Feeling Good
    It's the idea of "this too shall pass" in both pain and the burst of energy that comes from pleasure that opens doors for expansion.
    We need to learn to release ourselves from both pain and pleasure in order to prepare for whatever life throws our way.
    POINT #3: A Lasting Perspective
    Throughout your whole Core 4, knowing that "this won't last" is a good mentality to get into because it leaves openings for new perspective.
    Shift the perspective that this will not last in pleasure especially because nothing good will last forever.
    QUESTION OF THE DAY:
    Where in your Core 4 (body, being, balance and business) have you become attached to pain or pleasure and you're now stuck in a rut?
    CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:
    Tell a different story. Write down what you can do today that will open a new perspective in asking the right question about what will happen after either the pleasure or pain is gone.
    QUOTE OF THE DAY:
    "First, you have to recognize that there's pain and accept that. But then you need to switch your mind that this will pass. Soon it will be over and you will not feel this pain anymore. Things slowly get better; the pain doesn't go away, but you get to a place that the mind starts switching its focus from the pain to the statement 'this will not last' so it gives you a break to see it through."

  • Fuel 276: Plan Your War!
    //
    IN TODAY'S FUEL....
    POINT #1: Sitting with Hal
    Working on the baseline of the new Wake Up Warrior Book.
    Opening the Conscious of the Brain to open up the content journey.
    POINT #2: Power of Preparation
    You have to scope back and get a bird's eye view of the message in order to be clear for the overall vision.
    Planning can be a little dry and methodical, and has to be a big chunk of "Do Not Disturb" time.
    POINT #3: Blue Skies Dumping
    In order to get a clear vision of putting together a book, undisturbed time is essential.
    When you're allowed time to mind dump and brainstorm, clarity ensues.
    QUESTION OF THE DAY:
    Where in your Core 4 (body, being, balance and business) have you failed to plan and the reality is failure?
    CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:
    Block out one hour with your War Map (journal) and blue skying/brainstorming/mind dump experience to lay out the plan.
    QUOTE OF THE DAY:
    "If you fail to plan, you can plan to fail."
    -- Garrett's Pal Hal

  • Fuel 275: Courage Is Chosen
    //
    IN TODAY'S FUEL....
    POINT #1: Reality of Life
    Courage itself must be chosen.
    A person can experience a reality that we might call fearlessness, but it's impossible to not gain courage without facing fear first.
    POINT #2: Courage to Face Fear
    Fear is a reality of growth; we will not be able to get courage or fear without the other one.
    It comes down to choice on whether it's courage or fear on how you operate.
    POINT #3: Necessary Courage Trap
    When you no longer have to choose courage, it means you're no longer growing.
    When something becomes normal to you, you're in trouble because it breeds complacency which leads to burn out and burning your shit down. Choose courage in letting go of what is good and leaping for what is great.
    QUESTION OF THE DAY:
    Where in your Core 4 (body, being, balance and business) have you found yourself in a place in which the comfort of non-courage has become your game?
    CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:
    What is the one thing, that if you started doing it in that area of complacency, would put you out of your comfort zone? Now go do it.
    QUOTE OF THE DAY:
    "Being fearless is simply a result of having courage. Courage itself must be chosen in the face of fear. Without fear there is no courage, and without courage there is no fear. Courage itself has me leap into the unknown. The joy comes in the journey inside the action when you choose to have courage and go. Fear is no longer an option."

  • Fuel 274: It’s Not About the 20, Carlos
    //
    IN TODAY'S FUEL....
    POINT #1: CrossFit Infiltration
    During a little getaway with the wife, Garrett goes through an experience in his hotel with a Boot Camp workout.
    Getting ambushed with a charge by demanding money for something AFTER the fact is highly irritating.
    POINT #2: Having the Full Story
    The "Carlos took advantage of me" story is one in which we didn't inquire and ask in order to avoid feeling taken advantage of later.
    If we go through a situation and have the same reaction as before, YOU are the fool, not the person you think is taking advantage of you.
    POINT #3: Killing Assumptions
    When we assume instead of looking to get the clear picture, the frustration we may feel we also need to take full responsibility for.
    To assume still ends up making an ass out of you and me.
    QUESTION OF THE DAY:
    Where in your Core 4 (body, being, balance and business) have your assumptions about the reality of things begun to cause you chaos?
    CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:
    Write down inside your journal (War Map) your responsibility on the other side of the equation  in this conversation.
    QUOTE OF THE DAY:
    "In life, you and I are going to be faced with situations in which we don't get the whole truth until later. What do you do when that happens? Once you know how somebody plays, you're now left to make a new decision."

  • Fuel 273: What Is YOUR Normal?
    //
    IN TODAY'S FUEL....
    POINT #1: Life On the Pacific Coast Highway
    There's an Orange County experience of high end cars as the main traffic.
    Reality has become a place in which it is normal to see an environment surrounded by Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
    POINT #2: Conversation About What Is Normal
    Whether it's a double wide trailer or a multi-million dollar home, what you surround yourself with becomes normal and reflects your current state of thinking.
    It's not so much about where you came from to get to where you are now, but being comfortable with your surroundings as a reflection of your thought process.
    POINT #3: Uncomfortable With Success
    If the person you were a few years ago were to take a step into your current reality, your old self might be uncomfortable with where you currently are at, whether it be due to scarcity or prosperity.
    Your new normal gives you an opportunity to look back at where you were and look forward to the future.
    QUESTION OF THE DAY:
    Where in your Core 4 (body, being, balance and business) have you not given yourself a chance of where you were yesterday to where you are today?
    CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:
    Draw out inside your journal (War Map) where you were at and what is normal for you today, seeing if it's beyond anything you have ever imagined or if there's still work to be done.
    QUOTE OF THE DAY:
    "When you start to take a step back and look at what normal was for you before and what it is now, you start to recognize how much you have grown and allowed yourself to expand."
