In economics there's a term to describe looking at the big picture as having a macro experience, and tackling something on a small scale is known as having a micro experience. These perspectives are how each one of us operate on everything that we do each day. What Garrett observed from having conversations during his Strategic Coach Mastermind in Chicago is that it takes a bunch of micro actions to create a macro result, and having a perspective that each decision we make has results and repercussions in the future that may not give us the results that we desire, even though in the micro it appears to be a success. Extreme dieting is a perfect example of this, but it applies to every area of our lives.

To drink or to create? That is the question. Garrett had just arrived in Chicago upon creating today's episode to attend Dan Sullivan's Strategic Coach Mastermind. He found that he enjoys traveling almost as much as the event that he's traveling to because he makes sure that he gives himself space to create. This takes form in choosing to fly first class, getting a hotel room that gives him plenty of creative space, listening to his headphones with the music turned up high and a bunch of projects to tackle. Each day we are given the choice to sedate or create, and sometimes there's a time and place for each choice. He leaves us with the question asking what our lives would look like if we chose to create instead of sedate.
Garrett was messaging recently with a client that was extremely stressed out and asked what it was he was doing to relax. The conversation of float tanks came up and the client stated that it didn't work, also admitting that he had only gone once and didn't have any desire to go back again because he didn't get the results he was wanting. The thing with making a significant shift to create change is that is also requires time and repetition. It took us a long time to fuck shit up in our lives, and it's going to require a long time to correct it.

Do you ever see images from earlier years on social media that show you how different your life looks now compared to then? Was it better? Worse? The mind-bending growth that Garrett has had within his life, in particularly with his relationship with his wife has shown him how far they've come after looking at an image that they took from a Date Night in Las Vegas that was posted inside of Facebook Memories back in 2013 on the exact date of viewing it now in 2018 and was in complete shock to see all that they've achieved now that they have a podcast together and all of the growth that they've made, little by little to get from there to where they are now.

There are many days that Garrett does NOT wake up on Fire, wanting to crawl back into what he calls the Blanket of Fear. Instead, he has a commitment to live the Warrior's Way, which requires operating from a place of Fire EVERY DAY, so he has learned to pull himself out of default mode through doing the daily actions within the Core 4 and taking time to reframe the Game with tools that help him, like surfing, float tanks and the Warrior process of journaling known as The Stack.
