Welcome to Rae’s conclusion of the Dorothea Puente case! In Part 2, we’ll be discussing the bulk of the murders committed by Dorothea, as well as the events leading up to her trial.  Dorothea Puente would be charged with 9 counts of first degree murder after several bodies were unearthed from her yard. Dorothea would ultimately only be convicted of 3 out of the 9 murders, and she would pass away in 2011 at a California correctional facility. Today’s episode will be the first of two installments. For this 2 parter, Rae will be telling us about the life and crimes of Dorothea Puente. Dorothea is also known as “The Landlady from Hell”.   Dorothea’s reign of terror ended in 1988 after she was arrested by Sacramento police. Dorothea ran a boarding house, and after her tenants started disappearing with no explanation, she would eventually be caught in her own web of lies. Dorothea had been killing her tenants, and burying their bodies in her yard. She escaped detection for years by making everyone around her believe she was just your loving, friendly neighborhood grandma! This case is WILD you guys.   Part 1 will be focusing on Dorothea’s early life, and her upbringing. We will also start discussing Dorothea’s earliest crimes, leading up her first murders. On May 31st, 2014, emergency dispatchers in Waukesha, Wisconsin received a rather chilling 911 call. A cyclist named Greg Steinberg had discovered the body of a 12 year old girl on the side of the road. This girl’s name was Payton “Bella” Leutner, and she somehow crawled out of the nearby woods after being viscously stabbed 19 times. She had been left for dead.   Bella’s two “best” friends, Anissa Weir (12), and Morgan Geyser (also 12) had attempted to sacrifice her to a boogeyman known as  “The Slenderman”.  Join us this week as Gage tells us the terrifying true story of two 12 year old girls who almost slaughtered their classmate in order to appease Slenderman. We introduce to you our first installment of our “Hometown Legends” series! In this series, we’ll be focusing on dark, as well as haunted lore from our home state of Georgia! She went outside to play that evening, and never came back home. No one was prepared for the absolute horror that was the truth.  9 year old Elizabeth was lured into the woods behind her house, where she was brutally murdered by her 15 year old neighbor, Alyssa Bustamante. This weeks episode is going to take us WAYYY down you guys. Extremely so. Christa Gail Pike was only 18 years old when she brutally beat, and tortured 19 year old Colleen Slemmer to death outside of the Job Corps program campus in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was accompanied by two other students. The only thing more horrid than what Christa did to Colleen is the reason she gave for doing so. Christa killed Colleen because she was convinced that Colleen was trying to “steal” her 17 year old boyfriend away from her. This murder was so heinous, so incredibly depraved, so savage, that Christa would be given the death penalty at her sentencing trial in 1996. She was only 20 years old when she was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to death by the electric chair. Making her the youngest woman in America to ever receive the death penalty. In the morning hours of Monday, April 28th, 2014, a very frantic 911 call was made from Corpus Christi Catholic College located in Leeds, England. The Spanish teacher at this school, 61 year-old Ann Maguire, had been savagely stabbed to death by one of her own students. Ann was in the middle of helping a student with schoolwork when 15 year-old William Cornick walked up behind her with a large kitchen knife and started stabbing her. William had pre packed the weapon in his backpack on his way to school that morning, along with a bottle of Jack Daniels so he could have a celebratory drink after he murdered his teacher. Explore with us, as Gage tells us this absolutely shocking story. What could have caused this 15 year-old boy to feel so much hatred, so much viscousness towards his teacher that he executes her in front of her entire class? The answers may very well shock you! Join us this week as Rae tells us the unbelievable story of a Florida woman who killed her boyfriend by zipping him up in a suitcase, and leaving him to suffocate as she slept. She even recorded her boyfriend on her phone begging for his life as she laughed. This woman was 42 year-old Sarah Boone. On Monday, February 25th, 2020, Sarah made a frantic 911 call to Winter Park authorities. She was saying that she discovered her boyfriend dead inside a suitcase she had zipped him up in the night before while they were playing “Hide and Seek”.
