This week, Gage is going to take us down a pretty dark path. We’re going to be talking about Dennis Rader. Or as he also goes by, The BTK killer. BTK standing for Bind Them. Torture Them. Kill Them. Dennis was a family man, a father, and a husband. No one ever knew that behind closed doors, he was nothing short of an absolute monster. Dennis terrorized the city of Wichita, Kansas for decades, and from 1974 to 1991, he claimed the lives of 10 people. 2 of those people were children under the age of 12 years old. This one is going to be a rough ride you guys.

This week marks part 1 of 2 of Rae’s coverage of one of the most heartbreaking and devastating tragedies to ever happen in America. We’re talking about Columbine. On April 20th, 1999, Eric Harris (18) and Dylan Klebold (17) launched an absolutely ruthless assault within the halls of Columbine High School. Eric and Dylan shot 12 students and 1 teacher to death that day, leaving numerous others critically injured. At the end of the assault, Eric and Dylan took their own lives. This attack was so viscous, that it forever left a scar on the world.

Are you familiar with Leather face from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies? Or buffalo bill from Silence of the Lambs? Did you know that these characters were inspired by a real person? His name was Ed Gein. Growing up, Ed lived an extremely isolated life on a farm in Plainfield, Wisconsin. As he grew older, he developed an extremely bizarre obsession with his mother. An obsession that would drive Ed to commit some of the most heinous and disturbing acts imaginable. In the winter of 1957, the disappearance of Bernice Worden led authorities directly to Ed’s farmhouse. What police discovered on that cold winter night was so terrifying, that it left a permanent scar on not only the small community of Plainfield, but the entire world. Ed Gein’s crimes would also go on to birth an entirely new generation of horror cinema.

This week, Rae will be telling us about one of the most infamous killers in Italian History. Leonarda Cianciulli, also known as “The Soap Maker of Correggio”, brutally murdered 3 women in the town of Correggio between the years of 1939 and 1940. Leonarda lured these women in with promises of new jobs, new spouses, and all around better lives. Leonarda would proceed to hack these 3 women to death with an axe, and then she made their corpses into bars of soap and tea cakes. She shared these cakes and soap bars with her friends and various other locals. The motive behind these crimes? Leonarda was trying to protect her son from a curse that was placed on her by her own mother. This story is WILD! Let us know what you think, and thanks for listening!

On March 12th, 2004, the city of Fresno, California was rocked forever. On that day, Marcus Wesson murdered 9 of his family members in his home located at 761 West Hammond Avenue. 7 of the 9 victims were younger than 9 years old. The youngest victims being only 1 year old.
