On episode 88 we speak with Jason Avedesian, a third year PhD student in Biomechanics at UNLV. We speak with him extensively regarding his research and the very real link between concussions and the likelihood of a future lower extremity injury such as an ACL tear. Jason is incredibly bright and we learned a lot on this episode.
If you would like to learn more, Jason has recently published two papers on this topic:
Avesdesian, J.M., Covassin, T., & Dufek, J.S. (2020). The influence of sport-related concussion on lower extremity injury risk: A review of current return-to-play practices and clinical implications. International Journal of Exercise Science, 13(3), 873-889.
