In today’s final hour, Giordano leads off by playing back the questioning portion of Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney’s press conference. Kenney faces tough questions from reporters after exclaiming after a horrific July 4th incident that he no longer wants to be Mayor. The Mayor renounces the statement, explaining his love for the city, but refuses to take any accountability for his role in the heightened violence in the city. Mayor Kenney doubles down on guns, and scoffs when reporters ask about suggestions made by council members including President Darrell Clarke and Councilwoman Cherelle Parker, who had a phone conversation with the Mayor.

Then, Dom welcomes in the aforementioned Councilwoman Cherelle Parker, who tells about the phone call she had with Mayor Jim Kenney following comments he made about no longer wanting to be Mayor, telling that she and other Councilmembers see a real problem here when it comes to safety and policing. In a press conference yesterday, Parker and other members of Council pushed forward a multi-point plan suggesting changes to policing, including a return of a constitutionally-friendly version of Stop and Frisk and the hard prosecution of illegal firearms. Full Hour | In today’s second hour, Dom welcomes John McNesby, President of the Philadelphia FOP, back onto the Dom Giordano Program to get his and the Union’s perspective on the horrific incident that left two officers shot on the Parkway during the July 4th fireworks. First, McNesby tells that the reward for information has been doubled, moving from $20,000 to $40,000, with McNesby suggesting that soon that should be up to $50,000. John gives Dom an update on the officers, telling that they’re thankful to be in stable condition. Dom asks whether McNesby believes the theory that the bullets came from celebratory shots, with McNesby suggesting that it’s very strange that the only two people hit were people in uniform. In addition, McNesby offers his thoughts on the change of tone on policing by City Council, and tells how he hopes things can improve for the City.

Then, Dom asks producer Dan whether he’s a fan of the WNBA, and tells of the situation involving an imprisoned Brittney Griner, who’s been in a Russian jail for months. Dom plays back a clip from Al Sharpton, who demands that the Biden administration get her a clergy visit so he can go over to Russia to see how things are first hand, and also asks for Biden to demand a release. Giordano tells, though, that Russia is demanding a trade for a horrific individual, so he can’t bring himself to support the effort. Full Hour | Today, Dom Giordano led off the Dom Giordano Program by telling of an effort by some Pennsylvania Republicans to denounce gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano, expressing their support for Democratic nominee Josh Shapiro. Dom takes issue with this, expressing his disappointment in the conservative candidate, but warns of the negative implications of a Shapiro governorship. Then, Dom recaps the National Education Association Convention, telling of the topics discussed, bleakly revealing large support for mandatory masks and COVID vaccines. Also, Giordano offers updates centered on Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, after he said he no longer wants to be the city’s Mayor after a tragic incident on the Parkway during July 4th fireworks.

Then, Brad Thor, author of the just released Rising Tiger, the newest book in the Scott Harvath series, returns to the Dom Giordano Program to tell Dom and listeners about his new book. First, Dom asks Thor about the setting of the new novel, asking why he chose to set it in India, with Thor taking Dom deep into the geopolitics of the region and how they play into the story.
