Michael Deviney, President of the Republican club at Ithaca College, joins the Dom Giordano Program to recap a situation in which he saw an opinion piece he penned banned from the Ithaca College student newspaper, the Ithacan. In a December 6th opinion column, Deviney argued that there was some election fraud in the latest election and criticized mail-in balloting using solid sourcing. After posting the article, the Ithacan was hit with threats and anger due to the piece and removed it from their website. Deviney explains the point of the piece, which was to spotlight the diversity in the Freshman class of recently elected Republican Representatives, and tells what he’s learned through the entire debacle. Col. Allen West returns to the Dom Giordano Program, this time to discuss the election lawsuit in Texas, which was filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. The lawsuit takes umbrage with changes to election procedures in battleground states Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Paxton argues in the lawsuit that those changes were unlawful and call into question Biden’s victories in those states. West explains what he hopes to see from the Supreme Court and explains why this case is crucial to ensuring security in elections moving forward. Maureen Faulkner, the widow of long deceased officer Daniel Faulkner, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to reflect upon her late husband’s passing. 39 years ago today, Faulkner was murdered by activist and radio hosts Mumia Abu-Jamal, which set off a decades-long feud between those who would like to see Mumia freed and those who feel Mumia’s sentence is an appropriate justice for the murder. Faulkner and Giordano reflect upon the case and fall out, and explains why the case wasn’t headline news until about 1989, 8 years after the horrific event. Also, Faulkner updates the audience as to where the case stands today, and comments on both Krasner and former NFL player Colin Kaepernick's push for Mumia to be freed. Today, Dom Giordano led off today’s show by lambasting the Supreme Court for their inaction in furthering election integrity after the controversial 2020 election. Giordano discusses a writing by Ted Cruz, in which he explained the unconstitutionality of Pennsylvania’s Act 77, which opened the door for mass mail-in voting. “I’m disappointed that the Court decided not to hear the case challenging the election in Pennsylvania,” Cruz wrote. “The anger in division we see across the Nation needs resolution. Late last year, the Pennsylvania Legislature passed a law that purported to allow universal mail-in voting, notwithstanding the Pennsylvania Constitution’s express prohibition. This appeal filed raised important and serious legal issues, and I believe the Court had a responsibility to ensure our elections follow the law and the Constitution.” Then, Giordano gets back into a discussion about school closures, propositioning that those in our country need to prioritize child care and youth education similarly to other countries. Today, after two weeks of mandatory virtual learning for Montgomery County students set forth by the county Board of Health, school administrators in the county are allowed to reopen if they feel that’s the best route forward for students in their individual districts. The students in the Souderton area school district, though, are the only ones in the county with the option to return to full in-person schooling. Other districts, such as Pottsgrove, had plans for a hybrid but decided to change those plans for what they excuse as staffing shortages. Giordano finds it unacceptable that parents in the county still do not have the option to send their children to school. Today, Dom Giordano led off the show by relenting upon yesterday’s Eagles loss against the Green Bay Packers. Dom, upset that the Eagles’ hands are tied with Carson Wentz due to a massive contract, draws comparisons between the NFL salary cap and the perils of Socialism. Dom argues that without the NFL striving for parity between small and large markets, teams would have much more freedom to make decisions to benefit their organizations. Then, Giordano discusses Trump’s appearance in Georgia over the weekend, in which he called for conservatives to vote in Georgia in the Senate runoff, even with the allegations of fraud, as there’s so much at stake in the election. Dom wonders if Trump’s comments are enough to convince certain conservatives to do what’s needed to prevent socialism from seeping into our country. Then, Giordano discusses a new bill proposed by Texas congressman Brian Babin titled the You Must Be Alive To Vote Act, which hopes to prevent any funds from the U.S. Departments of Transportation or Education, with the exception of those going toward law enforcement agency grants, from going to counties of any state that do not annually check their voter lists against the Social Security Administration's most recent death records in order to purge them of any individuals found to be deceased.
