Today, Dom started off the show by talking about the ridiculously long and painful CNN Town Hall marathon yesterday, in which democratic presidential candidates addressed issues of climate change. Dom picks apart soundbites from yesterday’s barrage of information, and hones in on the way that this issue has the potential to tear the Democratic Party apart.

Yesterday, the Pennsylvania Capital-Star reported that republican Pennsylvania representative Jesse Topper wants to stop the Wolf administration from offering gender-neutral driver’s licenses. Rep. Topper was kind enough to join the show to explain his stance, which is sure to turn some heads in the coming days.

Earlier this week, one of Haverford Township’s volunteer fire departments was shut down after a member’s ties to SPLC-deemed ‘hate group’ Proud Boys came to light. Dom talks about the topic, giving intricate details about the situation, and asks callers what they think. The firefighter involved also happened to be the Vice President of the fire company, and Haverford Township commissioners shuttered the squad after they failed to act on the issue. Commissioner Steve D’Emilio was set to join the show, but as he was about to get on, he received a call that the incident was entering into litigation. According to a press release from the fire company, ‘when the fire company became aware of this volunteer’s interactions with the outside organization, [they] acted upon this information by first conducting an investigation. While the volunteer attended some social gatherings of the outside organization,’ he was never a part of the organization after deciding against joining the organization. Dom ponders whether or not one should be fired due to association with ‘hate groups’, specifically volunteer members who put themselves in danger to save lives.

Senator Pat Toomey called in for his monthly check-in, this time providing an update on his bill to address gun violence in the country. The bill set forth by Toomey and Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia calls for background checks prior to gun purchases. Also, Toomey commented on hit ads ran against him and his stance on big pharma, and gave his thoughts on Trump’s trade war with China.

Today, Dom started off the show talking about Walmart’s decision to end all handgun ammunition sales. Also, the store has asked all customers not to carry guns into stores. With these new initiatives, Walmart is also now pressuring Congress to enact stricter gun control laws. In a memo to employees, Walmart CEO Doug McMillan wrote, ‘it’s clear to us that the status quo is unacceptable.’ Dom asked listeners both via phone and on Twitter whether or not they will still shop at Walmart following their caving on gun and ammo sales. Also, in honor of Dan’s late dog Bailey, Dom asked listeners which celebrity animal is their favorite.

Dom hones in on democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren and her Labor Day message, which was seemingly a plagiarized paraphrase of Obama’s ‘you didn’t build that’ speech.  Dom takes calls on the topic to get a reaction from entrepreneurial listeners on the notion that they didn’t build their own business ventures.

Delaware County District Attorney Kat Copeland joins Dom Giordano in studio to discuss her upcoming race against a heavily backed Democrat contender, who will bring Krasner-esque policies to DelCo. Giordano began the interview by asking Copeland about her backstory, to which she explains that she’s lived and worked in the Delaware County judicial system her entire career. Copeland explained that she’s not surprised that her opponent may be backed billionaire George Soros, similarly to Krasner, and explains that her opponent is ‘cut from the same cloth’ as the incompetent Philadelphia DA. Copeland also gives her thoughts on the criminal justice system as it stands, the opioid epidemic, and the importance of policing through a lens of community.

Dom discusses school uniforms, particularly in Philadelphia schools, and takes the stance that they are outdated and not needed for students at both public and private schools. Callers align with Dan and argue the necessity of uniforms, explaining to Dom that uniforms provide equality to students who come from a wide range of economic backgrounds. Because of this, Dom explains how he believes uniforms are ‘socialist’. Another caller argues that uniforms provide a lesson in responsibility for students, and ready them for entrance into the workforce. Also, Dom stays with the schools and runs down the special selections for Cherry Hill Public Schools, focusing on one disgusting pizza topping.
