Today, Dom started off the show by continuing the conversation about red flag laws, particularly a comment made by Senator Pat Toomey in Dom’s interview yesterday in which he equated gun owners to terrorists. Also, Dom asks his big question of the day today, which was ‘how many bullets did the police fire to stop the Dayton shooter.’ The answer is surprising, and really exemplifies the reason why there should be no limit on magazine capacity in the gun control discussion. Also, Dom talks about the support for red flags by suburban politicians, and pontificates why all the Republican suburban politicians are in favor of this form of gun control.

Dom is joined by Dr. Warren Farrell, author of The Boy Crisis. Dr. Farrell lays out to Dom and listeners a case for why fathers are so important in developing attitudes and personalities of boys. If we’re going to look for reasons that have played a role in developing mass shooters, while single parents do a fantastic job of raising their children, we need to look at the family, specifically what fathers provide.

Also, an MSNBC commentator claimed President Trump was sending out dog whistles again, this time by raising flags on August 8th. Frank Figliuzzi said that because Trump decided to raise the flags back up after being lowered following the weekends’ mass shootings on 8-8, it’s a sign to white supremacists because 8 is the 8th letter of the alphabet and 8-8 means H-H and H-H stands for ‘Heil Hitler’. Yes, we’re lost too after hearing it. Therefore, Dom created a new product called the ‘Neo-Nazi Decoder’. In this segment, Dom and Dan read off some other sinister numbers that will signal EVIL to white supremacists.

Today, Dom started off the show talking about the tale of two cities, specifically their leadership. After the horrific events we saw unfold in Dayton and El Paso over the weekend, the mayors of both cities have taken opposite stances on how they’ll deal with Trump during his Wednesday visit to the respective cities. El Paso Mayor Dee Margo made it clear that he will meet with the President, in an effort to help his city’s citizens. When asked whether or not he’s aware of the opposition of Trump helping out, Margo said, “The President is coming out, I will meet with the President, and I guess with people with lots of time on their hands, I’ll deal with their emails and their phone calls.” Mayor of Dayton, Nan Whaley, took a different approach. While she is indeed meeting with the President, she encouraged protests, stating, “[Trump]’s made his bed and he’s got to lie in it. His rhetoric has been painful for many in our community.” Also, Dom again explains why he’d be against any red flag laws, and Dom reads a portion of the Dayton shooter’s manifesto, where he stated that the shooting was not influenced by Trump.

The always hilarious Ernie Troiano, Mayor of Wildwood, NJ, joined the Dom Giordano Program to discuss Ocean City’s newest effort in combating… seagulls. Aggressive seagulls have been pestering shore-goers for as long as the shore towns have existed, but Ocean City has offered a new solution in an effort to cut down on annoying seagulls… birds of prey.  The goal is to scare seagulls from landing on the boardwalk, in fear of being attacked or eaten, in an effort to make them less dependent on people food. Dom explains how he thinks this will go horribly wrong. Also, Troiano gives an update on the Kate Smith situation, and reports to Dom how his shore town has fared economically this summer.

Dom is joined by Senator Pat Toomey. In an effort to curb mass shootings, Toomey has been working with President Trump and other senators to put forth a bill that focuses on ‘red flag laws’. Toomey says that it’s just common sense to pass a law that would address such an issue, and reinforced that the purpose of the law is to make it as difficult as possible for people that have no legal rights to a firearm to obtain one. He wants to make it clear that, if you’re mentally ill or a criminal, you do not have the right to own a firearm.

Today, Dom started off the show talking about Trump’s words yesterday following the tragic weekend that featured two mass shootings, particularly his comments about red flag laws. Trump, who surprisingly supports these new laws that can be argued are unconstitutional, stunned Dom because he has been anti-red flag laws since they were first discussed. Red flag laws mean that you exhibit a ‘red flag’, a moving definition, and you’re banned from buying a weapon. Dom, similarly to Judge Napolitano on Fox and Friends this morning, thinks the laws are more in the vein of Soviet governance rather than American. Dom plays the aforementioned clip. Dom also discussed comments made by alleged ‘country’ star Kacey Musgraves Sunday night at Lollapalooza, where she had her crowd chant ‘somebody f***ing do something’ regarding gun control while discussing the incidents over the weekend.

Regular guest, Bucks County Courier Times columnist JD Mullane, checked into the show to discuss the significance that bullying played in almost every mass shooting up until this point. Mullane, who posted a similar sentiment on Twitter and called for a deep look into the mental health of the most recent domestic terrorists, has been spending the morning fighting off angry tweets.
